Human Resources Lead, Canada

This is what you will do:

The HR Lead Alexion, AZ RDU Canada is a strategic partner to the business to deliver a People Plan for Alexion business area/s which drives improved Commercial and R&D performance. Long-term strategy and Business and objectives will guide this role. The incumbent will work in full partnership with local AZ HRD and teams as regards to Reward and Benefits, ER and P&S support for RDU employees.

The role will report directly to Alexion, AZ RDU HR International, will have dotted lines to the Canada Alexion, AZ RDU General Manager, to the Vice President, Development Operations and Site Head, to the Vice President, Development, Productivity and Quality. The role will also have a dotted line to the AZ Canada HR Director to ensure high quality service and support to people across our Alexion and AstraZeneca Canada-based structures.

You will be responsible for:

• Coaches, supports, mentors and challenges Senior business leaders in the application of HR policies and practices, provides advice and guidance on complex HR issues to minimise risk and financial exposure
• Advising, coaching and supporting RDU GM, R&D VPs and Sr Leaders to deliver a People Strategy that enables the Marketing Entity and R&D Hub to achieve their goals and overall ambitions
• Responsibility for managing multi-disciplinary projects covering several areas, including Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits, Performance Management, People Management, Employee Relations and Change Management
• Working in collaboration with local COEs and AZ HRD to ensure the transition/change management to the new HR model (through 2024)
• In partnership with the local ER COE & HR Services, provides consultation on Employee Relations issues, utilizing knowledge of employee relations principles, practices, methods, and programs.
• Leads the Strategic workforce planning activities for the Alexion RDU
• Strategic HR business partnering to the Commercial and R&D Hub structures and their respective in-country senior leaders across all RDU business areas within the market
• Representing the Alexion legal entity from the HR perspective. Liaising with counsel/external counsel to address country specifics requirement (reporting, audits, etc.) and interfaces with labour authorities, as needed.

You will need to have:

• Technical HR knowledge / skills associated one or more of the following disciplines – Talent Acquisition, Performance & Reward, ER, L&D, Organisational Change
• Experience working in complex global multi-national organisations and matrixed structures
• Relevant Post-Secondary Degree
• Demonstrate experience of managing one or more complex HR projects through a complete project life-cycle
• Track record of demonstrable business benefits / improvement delivered

We would prefer for you to have:

• Pharma or Biotech experience
• Fluency in French
• Post Graduate Qualification in HR related specialism
