DemandLab is in search of an HR Generalist for a 100% remote role within Canada, with experience in Canadian and US jurisdictions.
- Onboarding new hires into the system
- Assisting with completing background investigations
- Regular improvement efforts on system modules
- Workforce Planning and Employment
- Conducting and analyzing compensation surveys
- Ensuring the accurate and secure maintenance of employee information
- Maintaining digital records for employees documents and benefits
- Processing transfers, promotions, and terminations
- Assist in developing and implementing the organization’s recruiting strategy
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Analyzing job duties
- Key player in managing HR aspects of organizational changes, such as mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, or other significant events that impact the workforce
- Managing the HRIS system, including:
- Managing benefits relationships with vendors (health care, retirement plans, etc…)
- Employee Relations related to conflict resolution, handling employee grievances, and promoting a positive work environment
- Evaluating the effectiveness of training programs
- Review team metrics through reporting
- Leads and maintains the company’s employer branding strategy and efforts. Makes recommendations for improvements and the respective implementation
- Job posting and advertising
- Handling employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Performing job evaluations and job analyses
- Leads employee onboarding
- Scheduling and coordinating hiring steps
- Writing and reviewing job descriptions
- Creating and maintaining accurate job descriptions
- Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law, and generating HR reports, analyzing data, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making and identify trends and areas for improvement
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
- Administering pre-employment tests
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Managing the applicant tracking process including:
- Asset tracking
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
- Maintaining compliance with all employment laws and regulations in countries where DemandLab operates and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Guiding the Managers in executing KPI planning, goal setting and reporting and holding them to account for the schedule and timeline
- HR Development
- Organized and detail-oriented to ensure work is performed accurately, completely, and meets or exceeds the client’s expectations
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills to support interface with clients, vendors, applicants, and cross-functional team members
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Analytical skills and ability to synthesize information quickly
- Industrious, motivated, resourceful, and creative
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems. Ability to define outcomes, manage expectations, manage cross-functional initiatives and meet deadlines based on project requirements
- Be a very quick learner that can grow in this role and expand capabilities over time
- Provide quick/timely assignment turnaround
- Be a leader with the ability to motivate team members
- Ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of marketing and experience in a consultancy is a plus
- Experience with Canadian, and US jurisdictions required, with international experience an asset
- 2+ years of experience implementing and managing talent management technology platforms. Must have direct knowledge and administrative experience in at least one of Workable, Paylocity (talent module), BambooHR, or similar platforms
- Proficient in Google Workplace, Microsoft Office business software
- 5+ years of human resource experience in a private company
- Minimum associates degree in business, human resource management or related field
- CPHR (or equivalent) designation, or actively in progress an asset
