Job Description

General Description

Develops all health and safety policies/procedures with the support of the Health and Safety committee and approval of the General Manager. Develops, implements and maintains all health and safety programs, in house training, in compliance with legislative requirements. Maintains compliance with Ministry of Environment for environmental issues. Under the direction of the General Manager, assists in areas of employee relations, resource development and labour relations as required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate personnel records – hourly and salaried.
  • Coordinate and maintain the Salary and Hourly orientation program
  • Determine what training is required and maintain training records
  • Develop and implement policies/procedures
  • Coordinate Environmental/Health and Safety Programs and maintain compliance

· Human Resource support to the General Manager

  • Arrange and maintain training for hourly and salary
  • Participate in other projects and duties as assigned
  • Maintain Accident statistics and report monthly
  • Other tasks as required
  • Arrange and JHSC meetings and follow up to meeting minutes
  • Manage WSIB and Short Term Disability Claims
  • Annual reporting for NPRI and AODA
  • Post job positions and organize interviews
  • Organize training for new hires for Health & Safety and compliance training such as Lift Truck
