Job Description
Central West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) currently operating under the business name Home and Community Care Support Services Central West is seeking a Regular Full-Time Human Resources Business Partner to join the team to support the implementation of people strategies that drive organizational results to attract and retain exceptional people.


POSITION OUTLINE


Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, Labour Relations and Organizational Development, the HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER acts as a resource partner with assigned client groups to implement people strategies that drive organizational results to attract and retain exceptional people. The HR business partners work closely with leaders and managers to build capabilities, plan and manage talent, and develop approaches that achieve shared organizational objectives. The HR Business Partner is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support that ranges from recruitment, disability claims management, benefits administration, talent management support, grievance administration, CA administration, wellness, health and safety, etc.


The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.


Specific responsibilities include occupational/non-occupational-disability leave management and wellness; job evaluation/job analysis and delegated aspects of employee/labour relations; support and guidance provision for policy, collective agreement and procedure interpretation and implementation ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and regulations; provide coaching, counselling, guidance and resources with regards to performance management and attendance management; act as an investigator for the complaint management process, including making recommendations for resolution; support accommodation, disability management and wellness in the management of human resources within the organization. This role will also support the Recruitment, Retention and compensation functions. In addition, The HR Business Partner will also act as a lead providing subject matter expertise for specific Human Resources functions including Diversity and Equity.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Creativity, mathematical and analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends and develop recommendations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with work processing spreadsheet and database software, including computerized HRIS.
  • Knowledge of general management and business administration practices.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills, with significant human resources expertise along with a love of business.
  • Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service for client groups;
  • Possess strong team-orientation and ability to be flexible;
  • Strong planning and organizational skills; good problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
  • Previous Human Resources generalist experience preferred.
  • Degree in business administration, labour relations or related discipline from a recognized university.
  • Self-directed and strong collaborative skills, highly flexible and adaptable
  • Previous experience working with unionized workforce
  • Ability to deal with multiple complex issues and manage multiple priorities
  • Possess a reputation for delivering results in support of strategic goals;
  • CHRP or CHRL designation preferred.
  • Demonstrates commitment to Home and Community Care Support Services Central West’s mission and values
  • Strong facilitation & training, motivation, mediation, negotiation, coaching, problem solving and conflict resolution skills paired with a positive outlook
  • Knowledge of human resource practices, theories, trends and legislations in order to provide professional guidance, interpret legislative requirements and monitor HR related activities.
  • Excellent listening and reading comprehension skills in order to interpret, assess the significance of, and retain information communicated verbally and in writing.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills to identify appropriate responses to issues or problems in the face of conflicting needs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of labour relations and union contract administration.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills to draft clear and concise correspondence and formal reports.
  • Possess excellent presentation and oral communication skills and have the ability to engage a wide range of audience
  • Minimum of three to five years progressive experience in human resources advisory or partnership role.
  • Discretion, judgement and ability to deal with highly confidential information, sensitive issues and emotional situations
  • Demonstrated success in establishing, leading and maintaining positive change
