The HR Administrator will also provide support on special projects around Equity and Diversity initiatives
Responsibilities
- Update internal databases (e.g. record sick or maternity leave)
- Revise company policies & proceedures
- Creating and distributing guidelines and FAQ documents about company policies
- Updating internal databases with new hire information
- Participate in HR projects (e.g. help organize a job fair event)
- Processing internal arrangements such as training sessions, and team-building events.
- Schedule job interviews and contact candidates as needed
- Performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of Human Resources
- Publish and remove job ads
- File administrative documents in employee files
- Develop training and onboarding material
- Create presentations when necessary / as requested
- Respond and troubleshoot any system issues
- Arrange travel accommodations and process expense forms
- Works collaboratively with all operations, leading and/or partnering on the communication and implementation of new HR programs and initiatives.
- Monitors the employee experience throughout the operations to identify employee relations issues and opportunities and recommend ideas and actions.
- Prepare HR documents, like employee contracts
- Maintaining physical and digital personnel records like employment contracts
- Send out e-mail communications when necessary / as requested
Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of labor laws
- Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects
- Computer literacy (MS Office applications, Excel - in particular) - Experience using spreadsheets
- 1-2 years' experience working in a Human Resources department is an asset
- Effective oral and written communication, , presentation, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Good ethical judgment.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Proven experience and/or certification in human resources, management or similar.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Organizational skills
- Proven experience in an HR role.
- Ability to communicate with sensitivity to cultural values and beliefs to enable mutual understanding and respect.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
