Job Description
Company Summary: SinaLite is a family owned business which has been operating since 1999. What started as a small 1,200 square-foot print shop which operated a single small AB-Dick printer has blossomed into a company of 150+ employees, containing several million dollars worth of printing equipment, and achieving a yearly sales revenue of 40+ million with over 20,000+ customers across North America.


Responsibilities and Duties:


General and Administrative


  • Ensure that housekeeping is maintained and provides a healthy and satisfactory work environment for the staff
  • Communicate effectively with the HR team and internal stakeholders informing and updating them regularly
  • Follow systems, processes and procedures outlined in the Corporate Policy Manual
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Comply with all OHSA safety requirements


Human Resources Intern Responsibilities


  • Conduct employee file audits and file employee documents
  • Enhancing and executing the company’s onboarding and department training
  • Provide day to day operations support for the HR department and employees
  • Support the full cycle recruitment process which may include but not limited to updating job descriptions, posting positions, screening resumes through ATS and scheduling interviews
  • Support human resources programs and policies
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Updating company databases by inputting new employee contact information and employment details
  • Support company’s engagement initiatives and employee satisfaction programs such as but not limited to brainstorming and developing department team building events for remote employees
  • Assist the HR department with projects related to our performance management software and performance reviews


Requirements


Qualifications:


  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Docs and Sheets
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a variety of people and personalities with tactfulness and professionalism
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources Management
  • Demonstrates initiative and commitment to learning
  • Basic knowledge of Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other employment/labour laws
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity of HR related matters


Working Conditions:


  • Intensive computer work and extended use of the computer keyboard and mouse
  • Fast-paced environment: subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity
  • Sitting for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours per day
  • Appearance at all times must represent the company image
  • Exposure to ink and chemical fumes, and airborne particles such as paper dust and drying powder
  • Noise level is usually moderate to loud
  • Additional hours may be required due to operational requirements
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 20 lbs
  • Work area may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
