- Assist with interpretation and processing of simulation and field data.
- Preparation of project reports, presentations, and calculations
- Assist with process definition and selection, facility layout, hazard studies, and cost estimation
- Assist with development of design documents, calculations, and mass and energy balances
- Manage and perform other tasks within the scope, schedule, and budget provided by the process engineer
- Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team environment, with focus on assisting the process team on client projects and internal technology development work
- Ferrous and non-ferrous extractive metallurgy
- Ability to effectively utilize written and oral communication skills to communicate with clients and team members
- Pyrometallurgy / high temperature process metallurgy
- Process modeling, simulation, and digital application
- Basic understanding of concepts of heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, and metallurgical / chemical processes to assist in the process modeling and design of process plants.
- Strong academic record (top quintile)
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Decarbonization and process transformation
- Completed the 2nd year of a four-year degree program (B.Eng. / B.A.Sc.) in engineering, with focus / major in materials, metallurgical, chemical, or process engineering
- Project management and engineering consulting
- Basic understanding of ferrous metallurgy value chain and principles of extractive metallurgy
- Interest / experience in topics such as:
- Applied thermodynamics and heat and mass transfer
- Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges
- Self starter and highly motivated, with a positive attitude
- Adapt to highly dynamic work environment and embraces change
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong research / theoretical / analytical ability a plus
- Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering challenges and projects
- Shows critical and creative thinking and problem solving, and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer programming ability a plus
