Note: This position will be located at Fanshawe’s Advanced Business and Industry Solutions office, 2555 Bonder Road, London, Ontario.

Note: This is a full-time Support position (35 hours per week) starting September 1, 2023.

Duties: Reporting to the Operations Manager, Strategic Initiatives and Business Development, and part of a cross-functional team, the Senior Business Development Consultant establishes opportunities to sell product testing services and research solutions to support the execution of strategic initiatives that are aligned with the department’s business strategy. As first point of contact with potential clients and strategic partners, the Senior Business Development Consultant will quickly identify and implement business opportunities for the department and the Advanced Business and Industry Solutions network, focusing on managing relationships to drive key performance metrics and create a leading-edge client experience.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and conducting projects, and analyzing data and information, to respond to client needs
• Engineering experience is preferred
• Experience in conflict management and collaboration among various stakeholders
• Demonstrated knowledge of strategic and business planning, with a focus on improved decision-making
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and monitoring resources and projects
• Engineering certification would be an asset
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and workshops
• Proficiency in the use of social media technologies an asset
• Strong organizational skills, project management skills, leadership, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Superior communication skills and high proficiency with word processing and presentation graphics to prepare reports and disseminate results to key stakeholders
• Budgeting experience
• Contract service delivery experience
• Knowledge of marketing and promotion principles and practices
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working within a business development environment and contributing to project management, risk, market analysis, and opportunity assessments and strategy development and implementation
• Equivalent education may be considered
• Post-secondary 4-year degree in Business, Sales, Engineering, or related field with advanced courses in applied research and/or strategic planning
