Senior Director, Business Development
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, you will be responsible for revenue generation by expanding and enhancing current relationships with partners, industry professionals and other potential business partners. You will develop and drive a strategic growth plan to increase business, taking ownership of current and new pipeline projects and leading them to completion. This opportunity is located in Mississauga, ON.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage contracting and governance requirements with clients, consistent with the values of the Company and the evolving Canadian regulatory environment
- Develop strategies to ensure sustainment of current business, focusing on organic growth, securing existing contract renewals and RFPs, and exploring new product sales opportunities with existing customer base
- Maintain high levels of prospecting activity and quickly establish credibility and trusted relationships with prospective clients
- Deliver effective communications, both verbal and written across different forums and amongst various audiences
- Leverage existing network to develop and build strategic relationships/partnerships with key clients
- Initiate and develop long-term consultative relationships with industry groups and key stakeholders
- Develop market analyses, account plans, sales strategies and marketing tools
- Manage and drive the sales process from signed contract to implementation and work with cross-functional teams internally and externally towards successful and timely launch
- Foster high colleague engagement and a ground-up culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
- Negotiate large contracts with key stakeholders
- Establish and manage to short and long term departmental objectives, policies, operating procedures, annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Build & execute strategic growth plan to drive competitiveness and market leadership
- Play a key role in the development of business strategy and implementation of the strategic vision of the organization
- Lead and manage the Business Development team
- Take a Customer Centric approach to delivering business results and provide exceptional client services, including timely execution of promised deliverables
Qualifications
- Strong team leadership and ability to build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships
- Understanding of B2B sales and experience with strategic account management
- Deep experience managing high-profile relationships
- Track record of consistently achieving and surpassing sales targets
- Bilingualism (English, French) would be an asset
- Knowledge of retail pharmacy an asset
- Experience working on large and complex initiatives, developing innovative growth strategies and making timely and effective decisions in a rapidly evolving market
- Strong business acumen
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical experience; extensive pharmaceutical & specialty expertise in Canada
- Leadership presence, with confidence to engage and influence executive leadership
- Flexibility to travel (approximately 20%)
- Strong negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry
