Role Description


The Successful Candidate Will Work In Four Main Areas


The Director of Business Development will work directly with the CEO to shape the sales strategy within the FVEY.


  • Establish systems and processes that will form the foundation for the sales and marketing function as it grows in the coming years
  • Manage key accounts, procurement processes, and transition relationships from their current owner to the Director of Business Development
  • Design, build, and mentor the sales and marketing organization as a business unit leader
  • Collaborate with the product teams to help inform new requirements identify competitive advantages based on customer requirements and feedback


Responsibilities


  • Identify cross selling and upselling opportunities
  • Build new industry relationships while maintaining and expanding existing partner
  • Manage customer expectations and relationships
  • Manage government procurement processes as the industry expert
  • Own CRM, sales Forecasting, sales budgeting, and new lead generation
  • Own key accounts at the company

  • Gather product feedback and requirements for the product team
  • Direct the company's marketing activities and budget allocation
  • Establish new processes, documentation, and sales manuals for subsequent new hires
  • Identify new partnership opportunities
  • Perform market research and analysis to assess industry trends and exploit competitive

  • Attend trade shows and industry events and network with senior leadership at our target

  • Developing internal business cases for organizational growth, advocating for business


requirements through defensible business metrics


  • Participation in monthly business strategy sessions, as well as in weekly performance

Prerequisites


Mandatory


  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise sales processes and enterprise sales
  • Expertise or experience in intelligence management and analysis
  • Demonstrated knowledge of government procurement processes
  • Experience building and scaling sales organizations
  • Demonstrated experience selling to governments within the FVEY

  • Experience managing multi-million dollar transactions
  • Eligibility for or active Top Secret security clearance from the Government of Canada
  • Persistence
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Patience
  • Located in or around Ottawa, Canada
