Job Description

As Aerospace and Defense Business Development Manager, you will be part of a highly focused and specialized team. Our Business Development Manager will be based in Ottawa, Canada.



Your tasks

  • Provide input and feedback and implement growth activities in close alignment with the worldwide Market Segment Management, Product Marketing, R&D, and Service organizations
  • Coordinate a diverse and decentralized team of Account Managers and Application Engineers in an effort to identify and leverage from industry interdependencies and win key opportunities
  • Effectively demonstrate and communicate how all Rohde & Schwarz products can best solve the customer’s measurement problem
  • Create new business opportunities while expanding the Rohde & Schwarz brand awareness in this market segment
  • Develop a business plan that outlines how Rohde & Schwarz products can address business trends in this market segment.
  • Single point of contact for Account
  • Primary objective is to promote the Rohde & Schwarz test equipment portfolio to the Aerospace and Defense market space
  • Work closely with the other members of the business development team; sharing information and developing a complete understanding of ADT markets and applications
  • Grow R&S market share -develop and manage sales funnel/forecast as part of the sales process.


Your qualifications

  • - BSEE (or equivalent)
  • Strong RF and test equipment background preferred.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer interface skills
  • Canadian Security clearance is mandatory for this position.
  • Established and extensive network within the DND, DND Primes, and small business partner organizations preferable.
  • Commensurate sales experience with a solid understanding of current technologies and industry interdependencies within the DND and Prime contractor space.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal French language is an asset.
  • Ideal candidates will have a passion for selling in close cooperation with local Account Managers and Application Engineers, an intense focus on customer service, and an overwhelming desire to succeed.
  • To be considered, candidates must have Canadian citizenship or permanent work authorization.
  • Understanding of key technologies including 5G/6G, EW, military communications protocols, datalink comms networks, avionics systems, and DND acquisition methodologies.
  • Management experience and demonstrated track record of sales leadership preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% both nationally and internationally.
