The Position


Title: Learning and Development Partner


Division: Enterprise Operations


Location: Mississauga (Hybrid)


Duration: Full Time

If so, we have a great opportunity to join our Commercial team as a Learning and Development Partner.


The Opportunity:

As the Learning and Development Partner you will use their knowledge of innovative learning solutions and adult learning principles to conduct needs assessments, determine and define the appropriate solutions and deliver it in an effective manner to ensure Roche employees are effectively and consistently meeting the North Star.


Roche Canada looks to the Learning & Development Partner to ensure we meet our goal of having employees with a sustainable, flexible and personalized training plan for product and disease knowledge (PDK) that enables the current business, prepares for the future, and allows employees to deliver superior solutions for customers and patients. Your responsibilities will lie with the Canadian organization but will liaise with global teams, other affiliates and support a learning network to exchange best practices.


Job Facts:


  • Ensure the product and disease knowledge (PDK) learning journey maps and performance solutions continue to meet the functional area/role identified gaps and challenges
  • Remain at the forefront of innovative learning solutions and bring new concepts, approaches and ideas to fruition within Roche Canada
  • Track the completion of training sessions and their associated assessments and ensure these are reflecting in the Learning Management System per audit requirements
  • Facilitate and coach during interactive training sessions or role-play scenarios
  • Ensure the completion of training evaluations and feedback to monitor the success and effectiveness of the learning solutions through measurement and analytics
  • Create ad hoc workshops to address acute learning and development needs of teams through leveraging existing solutions from the Roche network or through learning vendors
  • Support the development of and participate in a regional training network to improve collaboration across borders and streamline resource sharing
  • Collaborate with Marketing Partners, Medical Affairs Partners and other required roles who are responsible for flagging learning needs, creating content, etc
  • Coordinate product/disease area training sessions with onboarding and other functional capability building sessions to support employees developing their skill sets effectively and efficiently
  • Work with the Squad Leads (therapeutic area leads) and Chapter Leads (functional area leads) to proactively identify when training requirements are needed in advance of execution


Who you are:


  • Ability to quickly flex to changes in the environment with minimal disruption to the people or the business
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Business, social science, HR/Leadership degree or other degree with relevant experience
  • Ability to adeptly and professionally drive innovative solutions and experiment
  • Experience designing programs and frameworks based on adult learning principles
  • At minimum, 5 years experience in a pharmaceutical sales training or organizational learning and development role
  • Treats differences in culture and approach as assets
  • Experience in leading and implementing large, complex, cross-functional projects
  • Solid demonstration in developing and implementing vision and strategy
  • Strength in time management skills and prioritization
  • Strength in Project Management Methodologies
  • Proficient working within an agile framework (i.e. using scrums, sprints, etc.)
  • Ability to challenge status quo and making trade-off decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented environment, while modeling integrity, passion, ethics and compliance
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills
  • Knowledge in large-scale learning & development initiatives
  • Experience working with or in various functions to understand their perspectives and needs
  • Understanding in collaborating across functions and networking locally and globally
  • DSE certification, Adult learning practices & principles certification, Certified Coaching certification and/or Bilingualism an asset
  • Experience in navigating process and uncovering efficiencies across multiple work areas
  • Experience implementing strategy in an ambiguous environment
  • Coaching is your strength
