Job Description
Aspris' Somerset and Devon Education Services (Sedgemoor Manor School, Newbury Manor School, North Hill House School, Tor View School and Quay View School) are recruiting for a Regional Business Manager.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the School Business Manager is a member of the Senior Team with responsibility for the provision and management of a comprehensive administrative support service, to include Finance and Personnel Services.


Main Responsibilities


  • Ensures the effective and efficient maintenance of computerised databases and systems through the timely and accurate updating of associated records.
  • To be responsible for strategic planning, including all financial implications - ensuring that the sites make the best possible use of resources available.
  • Seeks to improve processes and the general ebb and flow of information so that the division can operate efficiently.
  • Supervises and coordinates a key administrative process ensuring all associated records, transactions and arrangements comply with the company’s policies and procedures, providing an audit trail by which data and information can be provided or accessed as required.
  • To play a central role in the strategic leadership of the cluster, leading and advising on matters relating to Finance, Personnel, Administration., Referrals System Management and be responsible for the line management of the HR and Senior Admin team across all school sites.
  • The role holder should be educated to GCSE (Grades A-C) or equivalent standard, with excellent keyboard skills and an intermediate level of proficiency for the standard range of office applications.
  • A minimum level 6 qualification in School Business Management or equivalent. Specific Business Industry experience also desired
  • To be instrumental in the preparation of all of the Site Budgets and prepare and present to the operations director, with recommendations and costings.
  • Ensures the services and support provided offers good value for money and supports the overall aim of the site.
  • Support all the Head Teachers throughout the budget setting process, in line with central Finance team.

The successful candidate will have experience in supporting Senior Management teams to provide best results that will impact the service as a whole. You must also have experience of taking charge of a variety of staff teams, and have the ability to manage workloads whilst supporting colleagues within their roles. As a School Business Manager, you will be expected to accurate report information and ensure continuous quality of operational services.


Resilience – We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.


Communication – Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Positive working relationships, good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.


Organisation – Organisation is key to ensure the safe management of both employees and resources as well as leading and directing staff through inspection processes.
