PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Human Resource (HR) Business Analyst will collect, compile, and analyze HR data, metrics, and statistics, and apply this data to make recommendations related to recruitment, retention, legal compliance, and other needs of the business.
- Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership.
- Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, and other sources.
- May guide and/or assist with performance, benefit, and compensation evaluation processes.
- Identifies and recommends reasonable short and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics.
- Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Supports analytical needs for implementations, including but not limited to, new training programs, employee development, recruiting activities, employee retention, and other related HR and business initiatives.
- Based on metrics and analysis, makes recommendations for policies and activities to improve the organizational culture including suggestions to attract and hire qualified candidates, to motivate and retain employees, to address staffing issues, and to maintain legal compliance.
- May assist HR leadership with staffing, recruiting, and/or budgetary needs.
- Develop and deliver training on new reports, report features or report revisions to continuously support and develop HR leader and end user analytic competencies.
- Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- This is an individual contributor role with required competencies: Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy.
- Minimum of three years of Workday HCM experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or related field required.
- At least three years of experience in related areas such as job classification and compensation, recruitment, selection, training, and/or employee benefits.
- PHR or SPHR preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel including pivot tables, VLookUp, etc.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving employment, and HR policies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS, payroll, and similar employee management software.
- Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory.
- Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
