The Associate Product Owner will support the development and implementation of the strategic product vision and objectives, ensuring the product outcomes are aligned with business objectives and the strategic roadmap provided by the Product Suite Owner. They would collaborate with business, IT and other stakeholders to ensure maintenance, smooth operations, development and implementation of initiatives.
This role will support 2 Product Owners and another Associate in the same product suite as part of the Product Team
Accountabilities:
- Assist with Product Implementation & Operationalization: participate in user acceptance testing to ensure the final product moving to production meets the business requirements provided
- Communicate changes, improvements and other important information about the Product as needed
- Seek to understand the context, complexity, goals and needs of the product suite vision and roadmap
- Participate in information gathering and analysis when incidents and problems are reported
- Conduct a business analysis and gathering of information
- Assist with communications: Understand the requirement/ask and iron out any ambiguities to ensure alignment with stakeholders
- Conduct analysis for ongoing maintenance and enhancements from a business requirements perspective
- To support the Product Owner, the Associate Product Owner will: Conduct internal/external research
- Actively participate, collaborate, and communicate with all stakeholders at various levels within the organization to ensure everyone understands the product features
- Liaise with stakeholders when changes to the system are made through Product Backlog Management
- Facilitate stakeholder group(s) engagement to gather/clarify business needs & requirement
- Assist in developing and maintaining the Product Backlog: Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with the Development team to enable business
- Participate in the planning and delivery of product rollout including training, organizational change management, release management and communication
Qualifications:
- A solid foundation of user empathy, technical skills, and business acumen
- The ability to effectively gather and prioritize user requirements from disparate sources, going beyond users’ requests to get to critical user needs, and the ability to rationalize across and resolve stakeholder differences
- Adaptable, well organized, and able to manage multiple deliverables at various stages
- 2-3 years’ experience working in a project team environment
- Good communicator and ability to collaborate effectively across functions
- Post-secondary education
Bonus Qualifications:
- 1-3 years’ experience supporting Product Teams and/or Product Owner(s)
