Note: This is a full-time Administrative position (37.5 hours per week).


Duties: Reporting to the Director, International Recruitment and Market Development, the incumbent will prepare and execute region-specific market development, international student recruitment and partnership plan to advance The Global Engagement Framework. The Regional Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of an international recruitment and marketing plan that addresses market interests resulting in set targets being achieved within budget. The Regional Manager researches international markets, identifies new high yield markets and proactively establishes and operationalizes the strategies to capitalize on enrolment and training opportunities. The Regional Manager leads a diverse team of internationally and locally based College recruiters, in-country representatives and agents. The position requires regular international travel to promote Fanshawe College to a wide variety of influencers in the international market place. The Regional Manager overseas the development and dissemination of promotional materials in various medium to ensure effective and competitive services and programs for international students and corporate clients. The Regional Manager is responsible for advocating for launch and renewal of programs, services and approaches as informed by market intelligence, trends, opportunity and awareness of political and economic climate and potential for return on investment.


Qualifications


  • Experience managing staff in a unionized environment and the ability to work in a diverse work environment is preferred
  • Experience with academic and business strategies of international education particularly in key markets is required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (both oral and written)
  • Knowledge of the education sector in target markets including providers, academic issues, market trends, regulatory environment and networks of contacts
  • Excellent human relations skills, judgement, cross cultural awareness with above average knowledge of international needs for post-secondary education, customer service/relationship management skills, conflict resolution skills, contract negotiation skills, research skills, budget management and project management skills
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, ERP systems, VAS , with the ability to manage and respond to large volume of email daily
  • Proven ability to plan and achieve business goals
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
  • Post-secondary 3-year diploma/degree in Business Management preferable with an International designation, Intercultural Awareness Training, and specialization in Marketing, International Marketing or International Trade
  • Experience in the planning, development and management of international education projects
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience management experience, working in an international context, in international recruitment, international marketing or international business development, including at least one year of overseas work experience in one the target regions. Target Markets can be one or a combination of the following regions: East Asia, South East Asia, Central Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe, The Americas
  • Presentation skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, capacity to work effectively under pressure while traveling abroad for extended periods of time
  • Familiar with the use of communication and information technologies for administrative and marketing purposes
  • Demonstrated listening skills as most communication is done through translators, interpreters or with second language speakers
