Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee joint venture and partner developers throughout the process
- Coordinate activities among teams of engineers, architects, planners, and operations staff
- Draft and negotiate letters of intent (LOI) for purchase with sellers
- Manage project financing, including developing pro forma statements, considering real estate financing options, managing banking and other finances etc.
- Manage construction bidding/pricing process for inclusion in the final project budget required for all closings
- Create and execute project development plans to meet project objectives, including cost, schedule, and resources for multi-residential, single residential, commercial and transit-oriented communities development projects
- Structure and close complex mixed-finance deals with multiple lenders including managing the due diligence process
- Lead, provide regular reporting for, and make recommendations regarding project development activities
- Manage project progress reports to multiple stakeholders including Amico Executive Management, Partners, Financers, Customers, Municipalities, Stakeholder groups
- Lead for contract reviews from a commercial perspective and coordinating and working with Legal for a legal and compliance perspective. Review legal documents for structuring, risk management, and tax issues.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Technical knowledge gained through a degree or diploma in Planning, Construction Management, Building Sciences, Engineering, and/or Architecture
- Strong technical knowledge of Building Engineering, budget control, cost (life-cycle) estimating, feasibility and value engineering with new development projects
- Extensive experience with permitting, approval processes and providing construction cost estimates
- Strong communication, client facing-skills and ability to coordinate teams between engineering, architects, planners, and operations staff
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Development and Construction
Travel Requirements
- Travel to project locations and client meetings. Expectations are these will all be in GTA area / Golden Horseshoe area. Could require some travel outside of area.
- Travel to Amico Head Office (Windsor Ontario) and Amico Oxford (Cambridge Ontario), as required. Likely less than once per month.
