Status: Contract Full Time - 16 Month duration
Salary Range: $96,785 - $ 120,979 per annum (plus comprehensive benefits)

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton, ON
Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Who we are: The Transportation team constructs, operates, plans and maintains a multi-modal network of assets such as roadways, bridges, sidewalks and multi-use trails, storm-water infrastructure, street-lighting, traffic signals, noise and retaining walls, signs, safety barriers and street trees.

What you will do in this role:
Reporting to the Program Manager of Infrastructure Programming, you will be part of a team that develops the Transportation component of the Regional 10 Year Capital Budget and Plan. In addition, you will lead the technical/program planning updates to the Region’s Transportation Development Charge and define capital projects for the Transportation Division of the Public Works Department
- Developing/updating maintenance/capital works agreements with Area and Neighbouring Municipalities
- Researching, evaluating and reporting on new initiatives related to budget and programming
- Coordinating comments for the Transportation Division on easements, encroachments, and surplus land
- Leading and managing specialized studies/projects involving internal staff from different departments within the Region and external consultants
- Conducting presentations
- Leading the program updates to the Region’s Roads Development Charge
- Leading the coordination and development of the Transportation 10 Year Capital Plan
- Liaising with other departments, divisions and sections within the Region as well as with external agencies, municipalities, developers and the public in relation to the development and ongoing review of Transportation’s 10 Year Capital Budget and Plan
- Managing and controlling project budget envelopes and coordinating budget redeployments
What the role requires:
- Demonstrated knowledge of roads/transportation asset management as well as roads operations
- Minimum of 5-year progressive experience in roads infrastructure and use of financial systems and CMMS or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong financial acumen with experience controlling budgets, preparing cost estimates and expenditures for capital works projects
- Successful completion of a degree/diploma in Civil Engineering, a Certified Engineering Technologist diploma or equivalent
- Combination of education and experience may be considered
- Knowledge of the Capital Budget and Development Charge process

Work Mode & Job Location: In this role you will have the ability to work remotely and attend on-site when required based on operational requirements at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton, ON worksite. The frequency of on-site activities may vary on a weekly basis and based on operational requirements. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
Hours of Work: 35 Hours per week
