Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Capital Analyst assists in providing financial and reporting support, developing, editing and inputting data for the annual 5-year capital budgets.
This position will be located at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario and will have flexibility for both remote and in-office work based on our hybrid work model.
Accountabilities
- To assist in identifying opportunities to enhance our current system of reporting and data gathering
- To assist in ensuring that the approved budgets are maintained, verified and variances reported on a monthly basis
- To assist in preparing and maintaining monthly reporting for each asset, outlining the progress on all Business Plan and Special projects initiatives relating to the annual budget
- Complete other duties as assigned
- To assist in developing, editing and input of data for the annual 5-year capital budgets
- To assist in preparing and maintaining a database of all building audits, building conditions /and environmental reports
- To assist in month and year-end accounting, capital accruals and carry over requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel is required
- Detailed oriented, with the ability to adapt to change
- Experience: minimum 1- 2 years work experience in accounting related role
- Experience in project management is an asset
- Accounting experience with large-scale Enterprise Reporting systems, knowledge of Workday preferred
- Working towards CPA accounting program preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field
- Excellent communication, organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills
