Financial Analyst Jobs

Akkodis is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team in Oakville, ON.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment and support various financial functions, with a focus on pension plan administration. While experience in defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans, as well as knowledge of TELUS Health pension administration solutions and relevant legislation, is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement. What is crucial is your proficiency in MS Excel and Word, a passion for financial analysis, and the ability to adapt to new systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile system data for annuitants, withdrawals, and valuation reports.
• Contribute to the development and testing of internal controls, ensuring compliance with annual Sarbanes-Oxley certificates. This involves updating, testing, and validating departmental processes and procedures.
• Collaborate in processing pension benefit calculations in strict adherence to pension plan terms and regulatory guidelines.
• Support the implementation of TELUS Health pension administration solutions for managing and disbursing member and pensioner benefits.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Create and distribute annual member pension statements.
• Establish and maintain communication with external auditors for financial statement preparation and verification.
• Prepare, verify, and file tax and other legislative and regulatory requirements, including AIRs, T4As, PAs, PSPAs, and PARs.
• Interact with members, employers, union representatives, plan actuaries, and custodians to address benefit entitlements, administration procedures, and plan provision interpretations.
• Engage in the processing of monthly pension payroll.

Skills Required:

• Working knowledge of applicable pension and income tax legislation and regulations (preferred but not required).
• Experience with defined benefit and defined contributions pension plans (preferred but not required).
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
• Post-secondary education is preferred, preferably in a finance-related area.
• Familiarity with TELUS Health pension administration solutions (preferred but not required).
