Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst - Wholesale on our Finance team.

Here’s Where You’ll Be Focusing

• Analyze/interpret financial results and communicate insights
• Assist in forecasting and budgeting process
• Adhere to GAAP and CEO/CFO Certification
• Communicate effectively with functional area managers and employees
• Provide recommendations to improve processes
• Assume responsibility and leadership of various projects as needed
• Serve as a business partner for assigned area of responsibility by providing guidance, analysis and recommendations for new business activities and impacts
• Conduct ad hoc queries and analysis to support other finance, category management and operations teams as required
• Assist in capital planning and analytics process as required
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial results
• Assist operations with determining which areas require attention and where efforts should be focused for improvements
• Supporting periodic and quarterly P&L statements
• Develop and manage various reports in multiple systems including SAP, Khalix and BW
• Ensure quick response to queries and follow up on issues for business and stakeholders

What You Have To Offer

• Proficient in Microsoft Office; intermediate Excel skills
• Able to work in a team environment
• Proficient in GAAP preferred
• Post-secondary education with a focus on Business, Accounting, Finance etc.
• Ability to use multiple computerized systems to compile useful information
• 1-2 years experience in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)

Preferred

• Accounting designation (CPA)
• Wholesale business experience
• Intermediate BW, SAP and Khalix skills
• Bilingual French and English is an asset
