Summary:

We are currently seeking a Junior Accounting Analyst who will be reporting to the Accounting Manager, with a dotted line to the CFO. This position will be responsible for managing accounts payable and payroll, as well as assisting with monthly account reconciliations, intercompany transfers, accounting entries and other tasks assisting in the growth and development of a strong accounting and finance department.

The role requires a forward-looking problem solver that can understand our business operations and systems and continually strives to come up with innovative approaches to administering work in a more efficient and productive manner.

The position will work in tandem with other members of the accounting team and other members of the Econolease operations group. The role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, multi-tasking, data analysis and analytics, spreadsheet, and accounting skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process payables and employee expense payments for all Econolease operating entities
• Perform a variety of accounting entries for each of Econolease’s varying business units
• Assess and test business controls and process improvement procedures to mitigate risks
• Confirm and abide by all internal procedures, policies and regulatory guidance
• Post invoices, employee expenses and other payables, accruals, and journal entries.
• Ensure all deadlines are met on time and in accordance with generally accepted standards
• Analyze and reconcile accounts to promptly solve discrepancies to ensure accurate financial data

Qualifications/Experience:

• Experience with QuickBooks Online an asset
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of related
• Degree or diploma in accounting (preferred)
