Job Description
Accounting Clerk in Waterdown
Do you have experience with day-to-day accounting activities? Are you someone who has a passion for overseeing the full cycle of the AP and AR, and are willing to assist in a variety of ways to help a team? Would you like to work within a fun, team-working environment? If so, this is the opportunity for you!
We are currently recruiting for an Accounting Clerk within the Waterdown/Hamilton/Burlington area. This fully in-office, full-time permanent position that will involve AP, AR, Journal Entries, bank reconciliations, as well as other accounting duties.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience within day-to-day accounting activities, is highly organized, detail-oriented with strong communication skills and is experienced with various software - Salesforce or Wave is preferred - as well as intermediate Excel skills.

Responsibilities
  • Cash management
  • Monthly bank/visa reconciliation and analysis of accounts and variances
  • Completing Journal entries
  • Investigate all discrepancies with invoice totals and work with the company to clean up accounts
  • Dentify opportunities for increased efficiency, enter data for budget and expenses for reporting to Leadership Team
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers and business partners to build loyalty to the Broker and Team
  • Maintain current A/R accounts - processing and reconciling returned payments by identifying and investigating any outstanding balances
  • Support the Financial Manager in bookkeeping and preparing financial reports for the CEO for all business departments
  • Processing a high volume of 50-100 AP daily
Qualifications
  • Experience in SalesForce or similar database AI systems an advantage
  • 2-4 years of office bookkeeping or accounting-related experience
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Computer skills: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and working knowledge of Dropbox (Cloud Storage)
  • Experience in WAVE or similar accounting systems an advantage
  • Team player with a willingness and ability to learn
  • Experience in Account Payables thru Cash Management systems with major banks
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Business Administration Diploma preferred
