Development Manager-Full Time, Salaried ($62,500 - $67,500 pa), in-office role.
Executive Summary:
Christians Against Poverty, a Christian organization, partnering with local churches, with a Head Office in Hamilton, Ontario, is seeking a person-first, growth-minded, entrepreneurial Development Manager (DM).
Reporting to the CEO, theDM is responsible for ensuring CAP is continually improving the quality of our processes and depth of our partnerships.
You willlead a growing and dynamic Development team, dedicated to our mission of providing local churches with crucial tools to serve their communities and demonstrate the love of Jesus.

Key Responsibilities:
Income Development:
- Responsible for the design, execution and annual review of the Development team’s Service Level Agreement (SLA)
- Spearhead efficiency creation and systems enhancement within the Development team.
- Achieve designated targets and markers outlined in our annual budget.
- Responsible, alongside the CEO, for the design and delivery of the annual Fundraising Plan.
Partner Development:
- Create and maintain positive peer relationships that will lead to greater collaboration.
- Create, maintain and mature a strategic plan, alongside the CEO, to develop and enhance connections with prospective church partners across Canada.
- Future proof the Development team by investigating and innovating systems and processes to increase efficiency and impact.
Spiritual Leadership:
- Pray with stakeholders as needed and requested
- Agree with CAP’s Statement of Faith.
- Measure future operational decisions against the mission and values of Christians Against Poverty
- Representing CAP and communicating our vision and mission with confidence and clarity.
- Participate in Staff Gatherings which include worship, Scripture reading and prayer.
*The Development Team will encompass our Office and Program Administrator (currently hiring), Compliance and Policy Officer and marketing and social media supports.In coming years the Development team will mature and progress in a number of directions, ensuring ample opportunity for professional growth and expansion in the organization.
The Development Manager role lends itself to someone who is a generalist, with exposure to, or interest in, a wide variety of charity development areas such as philanthropy, engagement and partnership, fundraising and/or networking.
Experience and Qualifications:
- A current Canadian driving licence.
- Christians Against Poverty is a Christian ministry, dedicated to inspiring and equipping the Christian church in Canada with tools to demonstrate God’s love to the community. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus, identify with our Statement of Faith and the mission of Christians Against Poverty.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, including an ability tomulti-task and balance competing priorities in an open office environment.
- Excellent communication skills and experience in speaking at events, to explain service delivery, motivate and inspire others to participate with CAP.
- Proven experience in a similar or related role, including involvement and familiarity with fundraising, partner development, public speaking and team management.
- A proven team leader with a character that demonstrates humble leadership, and a willingness to listen and learn.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office 365 and project management tools; experience of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and / or utilizing a CRM (we use Keela) will be an asset. (Prior experience of QuickBooks online would be helpful).
- Awareness of, and sensitivity to, the various streams of Christian Church across Canada.
- Experience inchallenging and encouragingteam members to improve their performance and results delivery.

Compensation and Benefits:
This is a permanent, full-time position, in-office position.
We offer a salary of $62,500 - $67,500 commensurate with experience.
Benefits are provided – including health benefits and pension plan; as well as 3 weeks base vacation.
