Summary:


The Office Administrator / HR Coordinator is the Aurora-based HR representative for Sinclair Technologies, a Division of Norsat International Inc. As part of the HR & Administration Team, this role includes close coordination with the HR team, based in Norsat’s Richmond, BC office, to ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures at the Sinclair location, supporting Sinclair staff with HR inquiries, and administration support for senior management special projects at Sinclair.


What You'll Do:


  • Maintain a positive, efficient and professional working atmosphere.
  • Support other duties as request by the GM or other senior managers.
  • Contact, coordinate and manage shared service vendors. Negotiate service pricing and monitor vender performance.
  • Assist HR & Administration in preparation of emails, documents and presentations.
  • Maintain kitchen supplies, upkeep coffee machine and tidiness for communal area.
  • Organize and support training programs for shop floor and/or office employees. Track and maintain regular and special training records.
  • Arrange catering for special events, preparing for All Hands meetings, etc.
  • Assist with recruiting for Sinclair.
  • Assist staff with HR-related inquiries.
  • Participate in committees and lead Health & Safety committee meetings. Coordinate and track action plans.
  • Work closely with the HR team, based in Norsat’s Richmond, BC office, to ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures at the Sinclair location.
  • Support staff onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Assist with Purchasing as time permits.


What You'll Bring:


  • Attention to detail
  • 2+ years of experience in office administration
  • High integrity and a real sense of ownership and accountability of responsibilities and projects
  • HR experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all employees
  • Ability to manage fast-changing business circumstances, thrive in a constantly changing business environment and handle multiple (and sometimes conflicting) deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Reliable and team oriented
  • Ability to multitask
