Job Description
Under the direction of Management, the Human Resources & Safety Coordinator is responsible for coordinating several HR functional areas including recruitment, onboarding & orientation, training, employee engagement, and file management. Along with, insuring safety rules and regulations are being followed by everyone in the organization. The coordinator will provide day-to-day support to managers and employees and assist with projects related to the implementation of strict HR and Safety rules in the Towing and Body Shop Industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In collaboration with program managers, oversee the recruitment process for frontline staff both internally and externally
Coordinate new employee orientation and onboarding
Develop and revise HR policies and procedures
Coordinate all employee training
Maintain records of personnel-related data and ensure all employment requirements are met
Prepare, send out, and manage employee letters and other documentation
Assist in the development of new job descriptions and update existing as required
Track HR analytics and prepare accurate and relevant HR reports
Develop and oversee a practicum student program
Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance
Provide support to staff committees as assigned
Oversee HR volunteers
Take lead in assigned HR projects
Support other human resource functions as assigned
Schedule background checks, medicals and drug tests to ensure continuous driver compliance.
Managing, processing and auditing driver logs. Follow up on any outstanding discrepancies.
Manage and maintain all Driver Qualification files.
Ensuing all documents are up to date.
on - site job visits to ensure employees are following safety protocols.
Managing all fleet documents. Ensure all equipment have proper documentation.
Making sure drivers are accurately completing accident/incident reports when required.
Review and follow up on any infractions, claims, convictions, incidents, and accidents as they occur.
Scheduling safety meetings/training when required with drivers.
Prepare and participate in any audits.
Processing of IFTA and all other taxes.
Processing and maintaining CTPAT and US DOT requirements.
Knowledge of Manitoba Rules and Regulations and IRP work (plating, renewing, adding & deleting plates).
QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management
Experience working in the human resources field
Broad knowledge and experience of legislative compliance with respect to employment and health & safety legislation
Ability to understand, provide feedback and implement necessary revisions to policies and procedures
Skilled communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to professionally communicate with diverse individuals
Proven ability to manage numerous tasks and projects simultaneously including the ability to coordinate, delegate, and monitor the completion of administrative work
Motivated, self-starting, detail oriented and exceptional organization and time management skills
A team player that willingly and enthusiastically provides support and mentorship as required
Ability to handle highly confidential material and matters professionally
Experience in the non-profit or charitable sector an asset
Strong commitment to Main Street Project’s Core Values: Reducing Harm, Truth and Reconciliation, Anti-Oppression, Trauma-Informed
Familiarity and ease working with issues related to colonialism, poverty, homelessness, substance use, mental health, and trauma.
Ability to apply Harm Reduction and Housing First philosophies in day-to-day work and interactions
Knowledge of Indigenous culture
Satisfactory Criminal Record with clear Vulnerable Sector Search, and a clear Adult Abuse Registry Check required
Strong computer skills.
Ability to work with all levels including drivers and upper management.
Knowledge of trucking industry rules and regulations is preferred.
General understanding of North American regions.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
