Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Finance and Office Administrator is responsible for the overall administration and financial management of the Empowerment Council (EC), including the day to day financial and administration operations of the organization. The Finance and Office Administrator will ensure the accurate and timely flow of information of the EC office to the ED. The Administrator will be responsible for the secure holding of all of the corporation’s documents and records and will maintain all Empowerment Council financial systems, accounts and reports.
Description
·This position is part time. It would be hybrid work, both from home, and located at the EC office in the McCain Recovery building at 1025 Queen St. West.
Skills
·Ability to work with MS Office (including Excel), Quickbooks and Word Press is required.
Qualities
- Personal lived experience of mental health or/and addiction preferred (i.e. having had mental health or addiction services)
·Ability to deal with challenging people and environment
- Ability to work without supervision
Duties Include
·Administering Petty Cash, AP/AR and maintaining the GL using Quickbooks
·Preparing periodic reports tracking ongoing budget expenditures and the cash flow of the organization to share with the Ed and the Board
·Liaising with CAMH finance regarding operating funds, completing year-end reconciliations with CAMH, preparing books for audit and liaising with the auditors
·Sending communications to EC general membership (maintaining the members’ contact information),and updating the EC website with posters, announcements and other information as required (empowermentcouncil.ca)
·Administering honorariums and disseminating information to the Board as required
- Preparing documents of a non-financial nature as requested by the ED or the Deputy ED
