We are looking for a Payroll & HR Specialist for our Caledon, Ontario, Canada office!


Summary This is an excellent career opportunity for an Payroll/HR professional to have day-to-day HR responsibilities for our two Canadian locations.


Essential Duties


  • Partner with plant management, the N. American HR/Payroll team, and other stakeholders to support the daily and ongoing needs of the employees and business.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Requires 2+ years of direct experience as an HR practitioner. HR certification strongly preferred.
  • Prepare payroll reports at as directed
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Outlook, advanced skills are preferred.
  • Maintains department KPI’s and Metrics, as well as complete periodic reports and summaries.

  • Experience with HR and Payroll software is required.
  • Maintain all payroll records.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Accurately process a bi-weekly Canadian employee payroll by compiling and posting employee time and payroll data from automated time keeping systems.
  • Exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
  • Demonstrate integrity in all (internal and external) business interactions.
  • Strong internal customer focus and ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Action-oriented and organized with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent follow-through skills.
  • Ensure HR activities are aligned with the overall business strategy, ensuring compliance to all federal, provincial, local, and company requirements.
  • Maintain HR documents including personnel files, handbooks, job descriptions, and local programs.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with achieving results and problem-solving capabilities.
  • General understanding of Canadian federal and provincial HR legislation and practices.

  • Transfers and verify data before transmitting to outside payroll company.
  • Assist with performance management, recruiting, training and onboarding programsand activities.
  • Requires 1+ years of processing payroll.
  • General benefits program administration in including assising employees to resolve questions and claims issues with carrier and monitor benefits invoices.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • All other duties as required, including but not limited to community relations, site communications, etc.
