Payroll Coordinator- Part-Time Contract-Express Scripts Canada

Express Scripts Canada is looking for a Payroll Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the successful candidate will have working knowledge of the rules and regulations affecting payroll. This role is jointly responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, in accordance with statutory compliance and company’s guidelines.

NOTE: This is a Part-time ( 21 hours/3 days per week ) Contract position for 3 months with a strong possibility of getting extended.

Essential Functions

• Process bi-weekly payrolls for +500 salaried and hourly employees, in a multi-provincial environment.
• Describe ADP attendance procedures to new hires and assist with password resets and login matters.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and correspondence.
• Responsible for all French written payroll communications and French meetings for ADP training.
• Review attendance of electronic timesheet data and audits for accuracy of input.
• Assist with T2200 processing.
• Act as back-up for payroll coverage.
• Balance and reconcile payroll totals prior to final transmission.
• Hire new employees into ADP WFN, perform salary adjustments, modify employees records i.e. address changes, direct deposit information, etc.
• Partner with other departments to provide and receive payroll information (primarily the Human Resources department).
• Participate in developing internal payroll procedures and keep documents up-to-date.
• Prepare Records of Employment (ROE) in accordance with Service Canada requirements.
• Contributor in Payroll and Human Resources various projects.
• Enter position transfers, salary and status changes, prepare final pays, etc.
• Participates in internal payroll reviews and improvement of payroll processes.
• Produce ad hoc reports required by the business.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work within tight deadlines.
• Strong computer skills (Outlook, MS Word, MS PowerPoint).
• Highly organized, able to prioritize and be detail oriented.
• NPI designation is an asset.
• Intermediate Excel to develop detailed payroll reports and any data manipulation.
• A diploma program in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now / Workday - strongly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication: English
• Fluency in French language is an asset.
• Must have experience in the payroll field.
