Job Description
Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with an Ottawa-based client to hire an HR Policy Specialist on a 6–12-month contract. As an HR Policy Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the company's HR policies and procedures are aligned with provincial requirements and best practices.


This role is fully remote and open to candidates Canada-wide.


Responsibilities


  • Write policies to align with provincial requirements, specifically New Brunswick, Ontario, and British Columbia.
  • Align policies with best practices.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of provincial employment legislation in New Brunswick, Ontario, and British Columbia.
  • Stay informed about current HR best practices and industry trends.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with provincial employment legislation (NB, ON, BC), and federal legislation.
  • Consult with stakeholders in the revision of the employee handbook and HR policies.
  • Seek opportunities to align policies with existing company policies.
  • Revise employee handbook and HR policies for the transition from one employing entity to multiple legal entities with different jurisdictions.


Qualifications


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Extensive experience in developing and revising HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Familiarity with best practices in HR policy development and implementation.
  • Professional certifications in Human Resources (e.g., CHRP, SHRM-CP) are a plus.
