Job Description

Altis Recruitment is seeking an Coordinator, HR Policy for our client in the Non-Profit sector. The Coordinator, HR Policy will be responsible for developing and revising policies in compliance to legislation to promote fair and equitable practices by employees.



ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Recruitment and Selection:

  • Analyze policies that govern the relationship between the organization and its paid personnel across the country.
  • Source and screen candidates, conduct interviews, and coordinate the selection process.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires, including orientation and paperwork completion.
  • Oversee the implementation, application, and administration of a variety of policies.
  • Provide advice regarding employment practices and respond to concerns and questions raised by council staff.
  • Administer policies and procedures promoting the use of new processes, developing appropriate training and communications strategies to promote awareness, understanding and support for policies across management and staff.


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS


  • Knowledge of Canadian labour laws, employment standards, human rights legislation, health and safety act, AODA and human resources practices.
  • Developed communication skills - including writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Strong computer skills in the use of various software applications - Office 365, Dynamics, SharePoint and One Drive.
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience, specifically in the coordination/development/revision of HR policies.
