Our client in Woodstock ON, a smaller and growing, well established production facility is currently seeking a Human Resources Coordinator for a direct hire role. Reporting to the President, the successful candidate will be a self starter who can competently perform a variety of complex and routine administrative, technical, and professional HR functions. This position will play a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations and HR Best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and senior management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner with Management to communicate various Human Resources policies, legislation, standards and government regulations through various communication platforms
- Be responsible for Security Program and ensure badge cards are issued and terminated in a timely manner to ensure security protocols
- Provide direction, expertise and support to Management on daily employee relations and performance management issues
- Administer Employee Pension program; enrollment, terminations and processing employee and company matched contributions
- Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements, keeping employee records up to date
- Administer Employee Benefits program, liaise with benefits provider, and process monthly invoice and premium deductions
- Complete hiring process; job descriptions and postings, reviewing, selecting and pre-screen of resumes, completing interviews and working with outside sources as needed
- WSIB; associated documentation and filing, looking after premiums and all year-end requirements
- All other Duties as assigned
- Respond to employee relation issues such as complaints or related investigations
- Organization of social events
- Assist, track and coordinate training and development initiatives
- Implement and administer Policies & Procedures as well as guidelines
- Accurately collect all pertinent payroll data for processing bi-weekly payroll within ADP
- Work collaboratively with Plant Manager and other Managers on manpower and employee relations
- Assist in administration of compensation and monitor performance appraisal process
Skills and Requirements:
- Completion of, or working towards CHRP designation an asset
- 1-2 years experience in payroll administration and timekeeping; preferably with ADP
- Customer focused attitude with high level of professionalism and discretion handling confidential data and matters
- Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with a diverse cross section of employees
- Must be able work independently and be a self starter as well as a team player
- Strong MS Excel experience required
- 2+ years HR experience within a similar capacity required, experience in manufacturing preferred
- Thorough understanding of HR Best practices and current legislation
