Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our world class industrial bakery as the Director of Human Resources. As the Director HR, you will play a strategic role in leading and managing all aspects of our Human Resources practise within all lines of business.
You will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the company's manufacturing goals, enhance employee engagement, and ensure a competitive employment offering to our Team Members.

Duties and Responsibilities
HR Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's manufacturing vision, mission, and goals.
- Identify and address HR challenges, trends, and opportunities within the manufacturing industry to support operational efficiency and growth.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to establish workforce plans and talent acquisition & retention strategies.
Talent Acquisition and Management:
- Oversee the recruitment and selection process to attract and retain skilled manufacturing labour, administration, and professionals.
- Create and execute strategies for talent development with a special focus on leadership competencies.
- Lead robust succession planning within the leadership team and operations leadership.
- Develop and implement effective onboarding and offboarding programs tailored for manufacturing roles.
- Lead all aspects of performance management, goal alignment, and resulting rewards and recognition.
Employee Relations and Engagement:
- Promote employee well-being, safety protocols, and diversity and inclusion initiatives within the manufacturing workforce.
- Develop and lead all internal communications.
- Resolve employee relations issues specific to manufacturing, such as discipline, compliance, career growth and operational challenges.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, fostering a fair and inclusive workplace.
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to create a positive work environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Oversee the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs for manufacturing employees and leadership.
- Manage and enhance performance-based reward systems tailored for manufacturing roles and metrics.
- Monitor manufacturing industry trends and conduct benchmarking to ensure our offerings remain competitive in attracting and retaining talent.
HR Operations and Systems:
- Partner with Payroll to maintain HR information systems that cater to the unique needs of a manufacturing environment, streamlining processes and enhancing data accuracy.
- Lead all related audit activity especially social audit requirements.
- Prepare and manage the HR budget effectively, accounting for manufacturing-specific needs and workforce requirements.
- Develop and enforce HR policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to manufacturing, ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards.
HR Analytics and Reporting:
- Analyze manufacturing workforce data to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement in talent acquisition, retention, and productivity.
- Provide management with regular reports and analysis on HR initiatives and outcomes.
- Track and analyze key HR metrics, assessing the effectiveness of HR programs within the manufacturing workforce.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels in an organization are required to engage with our diverse manufacturing workforce.
- Ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization, understanding the unique dynamics of a manufacturing setting.
- This role requires a sense of urgency for goal achievement in our fast-paced environment.
- Results focus idea generation, innovative and creative problem solving are necessary while focusing on achieving results.
- In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws applicable are required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field combined with proven experience of 10 years in a senior HR leadership role within the manufacturing industry.
- A problem-solving orientation and being action oriented while collaborative are important traits.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with excellent leadership and team management skills.
