The Role

In a world where Energy is driving the economy and the development of digitalization for a better world, securing access to the Grid and sustainable Energy is a must.

In this role, you'll own the Process of Power strategies & the schemes of Grid connection within a team of passionate professionals. You'll drive strategic internal & external stakeholder relationships (utilities, consultants,..) and will be accountable for risk identification & mitigation plans and reliable access to the Grid.

What You'll Do

Own the Process of Power Strategies & the Schemes of Connection to GRID in AMER

• Global Flash Report in AMER
• Own power connection Risk identification & mitigation plans
• Drive the Risk Management and expectations of Equinix and JV partners
• Ensure intimacy at all levels with the Utilities

Design & Construction of Data Centers

• Continuously monitor the utility capacities & availabilities vs the selected existing or future sites
• Follow up with all Projects Team & Consultants from Inception Phase that the Power Strategy Template is taken into account and its deliverables are met at the required Quality Gates
• All Green Field & Brown Field with increase of IT Power more than 3MW IT
• Extern: Global Suppliers, Power Consultants, Gas & Electrical Utilities
• Business Development - Master Planning - Projects Team, MCE, Procurement, OPS, Legal
• Natural resource evaluation – water, wind, gas and alternatives

What You'll Need

Equinix is looking for an Energy Specialist with more than 10 years experience in Energy Systems & Markets

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
• Experience working in international multi-cultural environment
• Master's degree preferred
• Experience in team leading and influencing
• Proven experience in Utilities connection agreements & Market
• Experience in Energy systems, Energy markets, Utilities management, Project Management, Legal understanding
• Fluent in English & Spanish (AMER); Any other additional language is a Plus

• California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $137,000 to $225,000
• San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $143,000 to $235,000

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
