WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The Director of Online Technology will support the development and execution of the technology required to fulfill Deciem’s Online strategy. This will be a highly collaborative role, working in partnership with multiple stakeholders, including Brand, Digital Marketing, E-Commerce Operations, Customer Happiness, Finance, Retail and Product Management. Together with product development teams and business leaders, the ideal candidate will assist in maintaining and developing technology that will optimize Deciem’s digital and sales strategies. The ideal candidate will require excellent technical and analytical skills with a customer-focused mindset and ability to work cross-functionally to meet business objectives.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Toronto office.

WHAT YOU'D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

Online Strategy & Metrics

• Partner with Product Management to define a multi-year vision, strategy and technical product roadmap and backlog to support the continued growth of online
• Continuously work to improve online journey for consumers by improving existing metrics and track data (i.e. conversion metrics, sales KPI, refund analytics etc.)
• Seek and evaluate emerging technologies and educate business stakeholders on the potential for new technology to enable business innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage
• Understand and implement, jointly with leadership, DECIEMs digital and online growth strategy in order to enhance our online presence
• Work with technical peers across DECIEM (e.g. Sr. Director, Solutions Architecture & Technology and Sr. Director Finance) to ensure all integrations and systems fit into the overall strategy for DECIEM’s technical ecosystem and satisfy all compliance requirements (e.g SOX, GDPR, PCI, etc).
• Advise leadership in the identification of technology partnerships, driving "buy vs build" evaluations and leveraging external resources as required
• Develop pipelines that can load online data and translate into an information source and product for decision making purposes
• Determine the best tools and short-term and long-term technologies in order to achieve the most optimal consumer experience

Digital Product Optimization

• Lead and initiate technological strategy to support digital products in partnership with key stakeholders ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
• Work closely with product management team to enable growth across digital channels, platforms and sites while driving good application design, scalability, development velocity, predictability and quality
• Provide expert technological insight related to consumer-focused initiatives such as loyalty programs, management of new or existing web pages/sites etc.
• Execute on digital strategy to reach key objectives through management of new and existing digital marketing campaigns and programs
• Design and implement technology that can drive consumer-focused initiatives through collaboration and insights from product teams

Technological Advisory

• Oversee, participate, and approve, from technical perspective, the selection of any new technical vendors
• Monitor and evaluate any opportunities in order to provide technical expertise and resolutions to business stakeholders in order to improve online performance
• Report on the progress of ECommerce specific initiatives or changes and work jointly to ensure DECIEM’s overall ecosystem stays risk free and grows harmoniously.
• As the main technical leader of the Ecommerce pillar, the Director of Online Technology would be accountable and responsible for the implementation, improvement and maintenance of the Ecommerce section of DECIEM’s technical ecosystem.
• Evaluate current architectures, identifying potential inefficiencies and ensuring all non-functional requirements (e.g. cost, performance, availability and fail-over, scalability, security, compliance, disaster recovery etc.) are properly articulated, delivered and well documented
• Provide analytical and organizational support, consultation and expert advisory on digital technology initiatives, acting as main point of contact to support between key stakeholders
• Contribute to the definition, implement, and oversee the execution of change management process to ensure the evaluation, documentation, authorization, auditability, and safe deployment of technical changes to DECIEM ecosystem

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

• Expert consulting experience to provide technical knowledge and expertise for resolving consumer and business opportunities
• Experience with Online platforms, Salesforce, Azure and ERP systems is an asset
• 3+ years of experience managing a technical team in a complex dynamic environment, helping shape business and technology strategy
• Relevant education in Digital Product Technology, Computer Science, Software Development, Software Engineering or equivalent work experience is an asset
• Excellent interpersonal, communication skills both written and oral and ability to work with all levels of staff and management
• Strategic thinker, with extensive ability to operationalize, leveraging excellence in time management, demonstrate ability to work well under pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines in an unstructured environment
• Experience with shaping business and technology strategy, Online platforms and site management to drive analytics
• Focus on DevOps and experience with Agile methodologies an asset
