Senior Director - Program and Innovation

What is the opportunity?

The role of Senior Director - Program and Innovation, will be accountable for the successful delivery of program of regulatory obligation, operational effectiveness and cost management initiatives within AML & Financial Crimes, balancing risk and regulatory obligations. The role involves prioritizing and evolving the program roadmap, establishing and overseeing program governance capabilities, and securing the right level of engagement from executive stakeholders to accelerate delivery of value in multi-year business transformation programs. Provide sound leadership to manage change across the dimensions of people, process, technology and data.

What will you do?

• Understands the strategy and operating nature of AML and Financial Crimes stakeholder groups that are being supported
• Understands the technology architecture vision and partner effectively with RBC Technology & Operations to delivery IT solutions
• Builds strong relationships with Sponsors, Business and Technology Owners within RBC
• Translates the project vision into program high level scope, design and deliverables
• Responsible for the development of program and project metrics
• Effectively partners with external service providers and provides effective management of third-party risk
• Facilitates and/or manages the gathering of functional / business requirements for enterprise-wide BU and IT solution
• Establishes a process for the identification of program/project issues. Resolves complex program issues and escalates to Executive Steering Committee and manages resolution as required
• Manages overall program financials and tracks value for effective decision making
• Coaches program/project managers toward their development; including coaching project management best practices.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

• Knowledge of domestic laws and regulations related to AML / AT / ES;
• Extensive experience working in consulting and industry experience supporting large scale and complex transformational projects, and setting up program governance structure
• Demonstrated skill in the selection, development and engagement of high performing talent; experience managing large teams and complex processes
• Extensive experience working in governance, risk and compliance methodologies and practices
• Knowledge of relevant policies and industry best practices related to AML, AT, ES
• Strong decision making skills to drive global execution
• Strong knowledge of AML/ATF and Sanctions Regulations in Canada and Globally
• Accountability, leadership, initiative, collaboration, teamwork, change agent and impact and influence
