Innovation Project Manager (Senior and Intermediate)


Apex Systems is a global IT services provider and our consulting practice has an opening for an Innovation (Technology) Project Manager to place with our Client (a Large Software Company)


Client: Software Company


Location: Remote - Canada (EST)


Hours: 40


Terms: 1 year rolling contract


Start Date: August 7th 2023


Senior PM Responsibilities:


The right candidate for this role is a motivated self-starter, who works independently to deliver results. Should have experience managing multiple projects, tracking budgets, and an understanding of working within the Tech industry.


The person in this role will be responsible for overseeing program(s) being developed in an SAFe and Agile Methodology environment to improve tech support workflows, establishing timelines for deliverables, working with SCRUM teams, presenting to executive stakeholders, and running meetings as needed.


Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel, required. Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Lean Canvas desired. Strong communication and typing skills are a must.


Program/Project Manager Expectations


Understand our Operating Model and its deliverables/artifacts


Understand project details, including but not limited to:


Who is on the project team


What problem is the project trying to solve


What is the Total Addressable Market


Which, if any, V2MOM method does the project align to and what is its priority


What is the (expected) Return on Investment and how is it calculated


Where does the project currently stand in the Operating model and what is the next set of deliverables


Attend all regular project meetings including SCRUM daily standups. Participate in end-of-sprint testing


Drive projects using SAFe Framework and Agile Methodologies


Help the project teams / innovators understand the operating model and guide them through it (explain what is needed, why, and help them complete the artifacts


Keep all Operating Model artifacts up to date


Must be able to provide clear project updates in regular one-on-one meetings with Jeff (the PM to ensure meetings are scheduled)


Complete any/all weekly project updates online (emails sent to them weekly)


Be prepared to provide clear and thorough updates to management on a quarterly basis using standard templates


Keep meeting notes and distribute to the attendees (along with recording info if applicable). Add notes to Jira.


Move from coordinating to doing; get the project through the different Chevron within the SLA objectives.


Intermediate PM Responsibilities


MID PM


Summary:


  • Establishment of regular engagement and mechanisms to capture delivery feedback.
  • Expand the governance model that we are maintaining to be inclusive of the Agile Release management process that will then tie Governance to Implementation to Operations.
  • The person in this role will be responsible for overseeing program(s) being developed in an SAFe and Agile Methodology environment to improve tech support workflows, establishing timelines for deliverables, working with SCRUM teams, presenting to executive stakeholders, and running meetings as needed.
  • Development of related project- socialization materials (roadshow deck, training deck).
  • Assistance and leadership with onboarding targeted audiences.
  • Establishment and tracking of adoption goals.
  • Facilitation and assistance with engaging targeted audiences for the project roll- out activities.
  • Coordinate the adoption around new customer experience group's capabilities being delivered under the guidance of the aforementioned project efforts.
  • Creation of standard collateral that is to be used in promoting these project activities.


Requirements:


  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
  • The right candidate for this role is a strong communicator and motivated self-starter, who works independently to deliver results.
