Opportunity

The Senior Manager, Restaurant Innovation plays a crucial role in determining and shaping the future of a Tim Hortons restaurant by spearheading innovative strategies and initiatives to improve operational efficiencies and enhance the overall guest experience. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Digital & Loyalty Analytics, Personalization & Innovation, this individual will collaborate with cross functional teams to identify areas of improvement and develop a long-term roadmap to implement new technologies, processes, and equipment in the restaurant. The Senior Manager, Restaurant Innovation will be instrumental in propelling the restaurant forward and future-proofing the operating model. This role is highly visible and will have broad reach into a variety of teams across functions.

Responsibilities

• Establish KPIs to measure the success and impact of innovation initiatives, analyze results, and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement
• Manage multiple project workstreams, including leading problem-solving sessions, workshops and interviews with cross-functional team members and subject matter experts
• Complete competitive / business environment research and benchmarking to determine emerging trends, analyze the impact/implications of those trends, and how they may be relevant for Tim Hortons
• Define and communicate project milestones to the working team and senior leaders; provide regular status updates
• Successfully build credible partnerships across business functions (Digital, Technology, Design, Operations, Development, and Marketing) to achieve intended value propositions
• Manage 1-2 direct reports
• Build an understanding of the current Tim Hortons restaurant operating model and the drivers of sales and profitability
• Develop and implement a strategic roadmap that aligns with the overall business objectives and vision and drives step-change improvement in restaurant efficiencies

Competencies And Qualifications

• Solid business acumen with the ability to analyze and interpret business results and build a strong business case
• University Degree in Engineering or a business-related field; MBA a plus
• Proven ability to manage complex programs and drive cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence co-workers while fostering strong working relationships
• Strong project management and planning skills with ability to progress multiple priorities concurrently
• Experience in operations or the restaurant industry is an asset
• 2+ years in management consulting;
• Strong time-management and organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent problem solver who is comfortable managing ambiguity
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the confidence to present to and influence senior decision makers
• Start-up mentality, eager to move quickly and work with a lean team
• Ability to think creatively and have an innovative mindset
• 5-7 years of prior work experience with a proven track record of working with and leading cross-functional projects
