Senior Director, Innovation & Enablement– Pharmacy Systems, North York, ON
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our organization as Sr Director, Innovation & Enablement. In this strategic role, your primary purpose is to lead the team responsible for connecting our healthcare experiences with our core platforms, enabling the seamless delivery of healthcare services through our pharmacy division. This role will be also responsible for driving innovation and leading a portfolio of applications that enable our Pharmacy business. As a Senior Director, you will lead a team of product owners and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of technology solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking, influencing abilities, technological expertise, and exceptional people leadership skills.
What You'll Do:
- Program Management: This role demands strong program and project management skills, with a consistent track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects on time and within budget. This role also requires demonstrated experience in establishing project governance structures, defining project charters, and ensuring adherence to project management standard processes.
- Application Product Ownership: Be responsible for the entire lifecycle of the portfolio applications, from conceptualization and requirements gathering to development, deployment, and maintenance.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key partners, including business leaders, executives, and technology teams, to gather requirements, lead expectations, and communicate progress and achievements.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and partners to evaluate, select, and manage third-party applications or technology solutions that align with the portfolio's strategic objectives.
- Performance Tracking: Define and monitor key performance indicators (important metrics) for the portfolio applications, using data and analytics to measure success, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.
- Budget and Resource Allocation: Collaborate with finance and resource management teams to develop and lead the portfolio budget and effectively allocate resources based on project priorities.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective collaboration and communication across teams and collaborators, ensuring a shared understanding of goals, priorities, and progress. In this role, you operate in a highly complex matrix environment, where collaboration, influencing, and negotiation skills are of paramount importance. This role works closely with multiple teams, departments, and collaborators to drive alignment and achieve the objectives of the portfolio. Your ability to build strong relationships, cultivate collaboration, and navigate through organizational dynamics will be essential to the success of this role.
- Innovation and Technology Trends: Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and standard methodologies in application development, bringing innovative ideas and insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Enabling Healthcare Delivery: Your role is focused on enabling the efficient and effective delivery of healthcare services through our Pharmacy Systems team. This involves aligning our digital platforms, applications and services with our pharmacy infrastructure and other applications ensuring the seamless flow of information and processes to support patient care.
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of product owners, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure the successful delivery of projects, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks and issues related to the portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered within scope, budget, and timeline.
What You Bring:
- Strong critical thinking and visioning capabilities, with the ability to align technology initiatives with business goals and drive innovation.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a proven track record of leading and developing impactful teams. Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
- Extensive experience in Agile methodologies and product development lifecycles, with a deep understanding of software engineering and technology architecture principles.
- Confirmed experience in leading large-scale application portfolios, preferably within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Ability to navigate and lead ambiguity and complexity, with a strong focus on problem-solving and decision-making.
- Strong business insight, with the ability to understand sophisticated business processes and translate them into technical requirements and solutions.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability in product management, software development, or related roles, with a focus on application ownership and innovation.
