Senior QE Director

Job Type: Contract

Primary Location: In Office 2-3 days located in Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

We have several projects with major North American companies. Currently, we are looking to bring on a Senior QE Director to support a partner of ours in the financial industry

Summary of Role:

The Senior QE Director will collaborate across IT and with assigned business lines to provide Quality Engineering leadership. Leads and manages one or more Quality Engineering departments to improve the quality of the software distributed to production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the strategic transformation of Quality engineering practice by automation and DevOps, adoption of dev stack in testing, BDD, full agile adoption.
• Ensure collaboration across IT and the business units by creating and executing a strategy for maintaining and promoting testing methodologies and tools; manages the execution of the QE strategy including business acceptance, user acceptance, and system integration.
• See through the implementation of QE program and assists with the overall QE process improvement within Technology & Operations; partners with Process and Methodology COE (Centre of Excellence), Infrastructure Services and Process Project Office, other QE groups within Technology & Operations.
• Build and implement strategic and tactical QE initiatives and plans; benchmarks application group’s QE services related to system/integration and user and business acceptance testing to best-in-class industry organizations.
• Chiefly responsible for implementing test strategies, planning, execution, and provisioning of test environment support for all testing engagements; leads (manages performance, rewards, and recognition) a team of Quality Engineers and SMEs responsible for supporting all test activities i.e., planning, execution, test environment support and release management for all supported applications; champions for business sponsor and preferred stakeholder project quality metrics along the key dimensions of functional correctness, financial accuracy, usability, accessibility, security, and performance.
• Provides guidance in the creation and adoption to Quality Engineering processes and methodologies; contributes to development and implementation of QE governance processes and associated reporting metrics; directs the software automation effort by identifying and prioritizing opportunities that will maximize benefits from test automation and develop/implement test automation solutions to deliver benefits (e.g., cost saving and risk reduction).

Looking For:

• Advanced level process knowledge related to: testing tools, testing approaches/methodologies, risk assessment and quantification methodologies
• Experienced on large programs or multiple projects with multiple interfaces and/or 3rd parties
• Advanced level systems knowledge including: relevant technologies, IT standards, methodologies, capability maturity models, and audit requirements
• Advanced level business knowledge related to: business line(s), business applications/processes
• University Degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Commerce or Finance or IT-related degrees in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT Management or Project Management
• Advanced level people management knowledge related to: talent management process (recruitment/selection, performance management, performance development/coaching, reward/ recognition)

Work Environment and Potential Travel

This position is a hybrid role which will require the person in the office 2-3 days per week located in Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
