Job Description
Position Overview:


The Director of People & Culture will build, implement, operationalize and lead Impact Kitchen’s HR strategy with specific focus on the functions of employee experience, culture, employee relations, recruitment, training, talent development, onboarding and offboarding & compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying and overseeing Impact Kitchen’s revamped Training & Compensation Programs, while leading the transition of a new HR technology suite. The Director of People & Culture will also oversee a growing HR team and the overall HR budget.


The Director of People & Culture will report to the President while working closely with the Leadership Team to develop and execute Impact Kitchen’s growth strategy.

Hybrid - work from home & rotational in-person throughout the GTA


Responsibilities:
  • Administering and monitoring a focused strategy on corporate culture including top-down & bottom-up alignment to the company mission, vision & values.
  • Implement Impact Kitchen revised Training Program through an Learning Manager System; continually measure training compliance & satisfaction.
  • Training & Development
  • Participate in quarterly strategic sessions with the Leadership Team.
  • Oversee culture, engagement, and DIEB initiatives while ensuring that all employee-related policies are fair, inclusive, and promote diversity.
  • File Employment Equity and other required reports.
  • Coach Senior Management and Leadership Team on employee relations issues; become involved as necessary to resolve these issues, including but not limited to investigations, disciplinary actions, performance management and terminations.

  • Continuously review pay structure and look for opportunities around competitive compensation and aligning pay to performance and core competencies.
  • When necessary, engage and manage employment attorneys on complex HR issues such as; Canadian federal and provincial laws and changes to legal and compliance landscape.
  • Ensure minimum performance is carried out through refined job descriptions, clearly communicating expectations and conducting periodic reviews.

  • Assist managers to establish a recruitment plan that involves requisition projections supporting proactive recruitment.
  • Establishing a concise employee journey with clear milestones for graduation & growth throughout onboarding.
  • Develop, deliver and maintain all HR policies.
  • Establish and support career progression programs.
  • Drive key HR key performance indicators, and report weekly to management on HR performance to budget, turnover rates, training compliance, manager net promoter score, amongst others.
  • Oversee the execution of employee feedback surveys and help all managers establish action plans in response to employee feedback.
  • Ensure internal HR processes are documented (where necessary) and meet quality standards.
  • Employee Relations
  • Administer and maintain benefits and time-off programs, providing support in response to manager and staff inquiries.
  • Support recruiters & hiring managers and oversee the full cycle recruitment and onboarding, including job postings & employer branding, communications, scheduling and conducting interviews, reference checking, background checking, job offers and other administration as per company requirements.
  • Oversee the Health & Safety Committee program.


Qualifications:


  • Political agility and the ability to achieve results tactfully and through collaboration
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Desired skills & experience:
  • Ability to act in a confidential and sensitive manner
  • CHRP designation earned and maintained in Canada, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding and use of computerized business tools such as Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, Email and other relevant business software
  • Thorough understanding of Canadian federal and provincial employment practices legislation and the Employment Standards Act.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven performance as an HR leader with a minimum of 7 years professional experience in Human Resources.
  • Outstanding communications skills
  • Organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Related Certificate or Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field.


Compensation:


  • Salary: $90,000/year but flexible based on qualifications & experience
