About the Role:
The People and Culture Business Partner will report to the Vice President of People and Culture and is responsible to provide advice and counsel to the leadership team in the Winnipeg Facility. You will collaborate and partner with site leadership to develop strategy, manage change, grow their teams and build an exceptional team member experience. The incumbent will play a role in shaping the future of People and Culture in the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Act as a trusted advisor, thoughtful sounding board, and business partner for the operations leadership team and an expert on people and organizational issues.
• Translate the strategic and tactical plans of the business into strategic and operational human resource plans.
• Champion key initiatives, programs and practices identified within the People and Culture pillar with business leaders.
• Support the leadership team in developing effective work force plans and collaborate with the recruiting team.
• Collaborate and partner with people and culture leadership and center of excellence to implement new and innovative solutions to help drive key people- and culture-focused initiatives through-out the operations functions including talent acquisition, compensation, performance management, career development, and succession planning.
• Build strong relationships throughout the organization to identify issues and provide effective solutions and advice when opportunities to improve human resources processes are identified.
• Serve as an advisor and coach to employees around career development and performance improvement.
• Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations, as needed.
• Provide expertise on laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, People and Culture, and talent management.
• Other duties as may be required.
Education, Training, and Experience:
• 8+ years of progressive HR experience across multiple HR disciplines (e.g., employee relations, complex talent management including leadership pipeline and leadership succession management, organizational development, and design, etc.)
• Experience supporting senior levels of leadership with critical talent and organization design challenges
• Undergraduate or post-graduate degree or college diploma in related field (i.e., Human Resource Management, Business Management)
• Strong Knowledge of provincial Employment Standards legislation, Human Rights and Health and Safety legislation Skills and Competencies
• Strong leadership ability, relationship development, influencing and persuasion skills;
• Demonstrated ability in planning and strategic support to translate business initiatives and projects into clear, consistent, and systematic People and Culture Strategies;
• A detail oriented, collaborative, proactive and results oriented style with proven success in leading and working on projects and project teams as a team player;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive and critical information;
• Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong planning, coordination, time management, and organizational skills.
