INSTITUTE FOR SAFE MEDICATION PRACTICES CANADA (ISMP CANADA)
The Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada (ISMP Canada) is seeking an individual with experience in IT senior leadership. The Director is responsible for overseeing the organization’s technical infrastructure, leading and developing a team of IT staff, determining business requirements for IT systems, and managing IT planning and operational activities.
The candidate’s primary role will be to oversee the review, development, and maintenance of the IT Plan, ensuring alignment with the organization’s Strategic Plan and operational needs.
This role includes analyzing the organization’s business requirements to determine technology needs and contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of enterprise risk management activities.
Requirements
- Evidence of participating in ongoing related educational activities.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
Preferred Experience and Skills
·Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare-related IT, with at least 2 years in a senior management role.
·Experience with electronic medical record implementation and/or medication incident reporting systems (or similar software in healthcare) and support.
·Evidence of technical knowledge of hardware, software, networks, system security strategies, IT policy development, and IT risk management processes,
·Effective project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
·Strong leadership and team-building skills with evidence of managing a team to achieve deliverables.
·Knowledge of healthcare and privacy compliance requirements.
