Sionic is currently hiring an IT infrastructure consultant on contract basis and it’s a great opportunity to work with one of the tier-1 banking institution.
The IT Infrastructure Consultant oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of banks IT infrastructure to ensure its availability, performance, and security. You are responsible for managing hardware, software, networks, and security systems across the organization.
You will provide technical expertise, standards, and best practices to technology teams during design, build, configuration, implementation, and maintenance phases of initiatives/projects involving security tools and compliance. You will provide support in resolving security agent and compliance related incidents.
**Please note this role requires candidate to be in Canada and must have Canadian work authorization as this role doesn’t offer visa sponsorship.
Main responsibilities:
- Maintain documentation: The IT Infrastructure Consultant will maintain up to date documentation on all IT infrastructure systems, including network diagrams, system configurations, and procedures.
- Monitor system performance: The IT Infrastructure Consultant will be responsible for monitoring the performance of IT systems, including servers, storage systems, and network devices. They will identify and resolve issues that impact system performance and availability.
- Design and implement IT infrastructure solutions: The IT Infrastructure Consultant will design and implement IT infrastructure solutions to meet the needs of bank.. This will include evaluating new technologies, developing plans and strategies, and managing the implementation process.
- Manage network and security systems: The IT Infrastructure Consultant will be responsible for managing network and security systems, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems. They will ensure that systems are properly configured, monitored, and maintained to protect bank’s data and assets.
- Manage backups and disaster recovery: The IT Infrastructure Consultant will be responsible for managing backups and disaster recovery plans to ensure bank can quickly recover from a system outage or disaster.
Must have skills:

- Infrastructure and endpoint software lifecycle, including design, testing, implementation, and currency strategies.
- Support of workstation compliance, from reporting through remediation
- Addressing support incidents for compliance and security solutions encompassing root cause and process analysis.
- Participate in vendor engagements including support issues and roadmaps.
- Working knowledge of security fundamentals relating to application control, firewalls, data leak protection, encryption, and malware protection.
