Senior Technical Consultant – hybrid – Markham - Permanent

Position Summary

As a Senior Technical Consultant, you are an integral member of the Professional Services team with very strong technical skills and experience. An understanding of the inner workings of a variety of organizations, particularly in the legal sector will make you the subject matter expert and trusted advisor to our clients on data migration solutions and deployments. The Senior Technical Consultant will work collaboratively with our professional services team and provide technical consulting, deployment, and troubleshooting on data migration services during small and large-scale software implementation projects.

This role requires an individual to have a diverse skill set; proven experience in a highly technical role, great organizational and time management skills; strong troubleshooting skills to enable the successful completion of software implementations on time, in scope, and within budget while being able to overcome complex technical challenges. Previous experience as a technical leader in large-scale document management deployments is a must.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Review functional specifications incorporating both business and technical requirements for custom development solutions with customers being accountable to your deliverables and proactive in your approach.

• Working closely with project team members such as the Project Manager, sales, and other Consultants to deliver the solution.

• Manage time effectively to ensure projects are executed within scope, on time, and within budget and escalate issues when this is not possible.

• Interpret and execute defined system requirements and provide support to resolve problems or enhance their understanding of systems.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation regarding implemented systems.

• Provide post-implementation support to our clients around THE CLIENT's products and solutions.

• Provide direction to clients regarding best practices around information management.

• Advise clients during the project of the technical feasibility of the proposed solutions.

• Be the escalation point for technical questions arising from business and technology groups on multiple peer levels.

• Develop and/or execute system integration testing as part of THE CLIENT’s software development process.

• Act as a mentor and thought leader contributing to the improvement and maturity of the Professional Services Team.

• Review SoW and Work Order proposals to identify feasibility and risks for the business.

• Travel as required in support of active projects; valid passport required.

• Perform various other duties as delegated or assigned.

• Proven experience with Windows Server and Client Technologies for example Windows Server 2012+/ Windows 10+

Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the following areas:

• Demonstrated capabilities to multi-task and provide creative technical solutions in highly pressured situations

• Proven ability to learn and assimilate new technologies into existing practice quickly and effectively

• Excellent record-keeping and reporting skills coupled with Project and program management planning and organizational skills

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

Additional Requirements:

• Eight (8) plus years of experience with Electronic Document Management/Records Management systems

• Demonstrated systems literacy skills with working knowledge of Document Management Solutions, such as iManage Work, OpenText, Documentum, or NetDocuments

• Ability to condense complex technical information into succinct summaries suitable for audiences with any level of technical familiarity

• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills, coupled with a strong interest in further developing and integrating operations with technology skill

• Fluent in English (mandatory), French is an asset

• Effective interpersonal skills and active listening skills, comfortable dealing with clients face-to-face and remotely

• Team player focused on operational and service excellence

• Self-motivated and strong determination to produce results in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment

• Strong time management and organizational skills including the ability to deliver quality work on time and on budget while working on multiple projects

• Strong problem solver with the ability to quickly and creatively identify/implement solutions
