Sr. Solutions Delivery Manager

Summary:

The Sr. Solutions Delivery Manager (SSDM) is responsible for playing a critical role in the vision, development, and delivery of applications for the solutions delivery team. The SSDM acts as the overall manager, possessing strong technical skills, balanced with a strong understanding of business and information models for multiple functional areas. The SSDM will work with multiple business units, sponsors, users, and project teams to craft the full solution and will manage multiple teams to craft the full solution and will manage multiple teams to successful implementation. The SSDM will be responsible for multiple teams headed by Solutions Delivery Managers.

Location: Corporate office, 25 De Baets St., Winnipeg MB (hybrid position)

Responsibilities:

• Transitions from the build team to the run-support team.
• Collaborates with IT peers to resolve resource issues and communication with Sr. Management and the business.
• Delivers projects on time, on budget with quality based on most current project baseline.
• All other duties assigned.
• Creates a succession plan to mentor and grow direct reports and fosters an environment where people are challenged to step up and become leaders.
• Partners with Business Relations Managers to influence our business partners to set realistic expectations on project scope and schedule based on our internal capacity.
• Ensures the appropriate production install requests (PIRs) are complete and have the required quality to implement new projects into production.
• Performs resource allocation in project management tool – resource commitments, respond to resource requests on a timely manner, reviews and approves time on a timely basis to ensure our allocation goals (for strategic and small projects) are on track, performs appropriate corrective actions (performance schedule) to avoids over-allocation
• Identifies gaps and areas of opportunity, eliminates single points of failure on critical systems and identifies training needs.
• Partners with Project Managers to provide direction as to what Plan-Build-Run steps will be required to ensure high-quality deliverables and ensures the appropriate variances are created.
• Sets clear expectations, holds people accountable, keeps team motivated and challenged, and provides appropriate recognition and feedback to direct reports.
• Conducts bi-weekly (monthly minimum) project execution meetings to provide Sr. Management with project updates of the entire line of business portfolio.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Minimum degree required: Bachelor’s degree
• Experience: 8+ years of experience in various developer positions (Developer I, II, III, IV, V), Project Manager or Solutions Delivery Manager
