Position Overview:


The Director, Human Resources is a key member of the team and will be supporting our Joe Fresh division. This role provides guidance, support, and leadership to the team in all facets of HR including colleague engagement, succession planning, recruitment, talent management, leadership development, organization design and effectiveness, compensation and HR standard processes. This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Human Resources.


What You Will Do:


  • Participate as a crucial member of the management team for the client group, helping to identify and achieve each business unit’s objectives.
  • Develop, lead and support the implementation of leadership development and management training initiatives to support and enhance organizational performance and alignment.
  • Promote a positive work environment that fosters employee engagement and productivity.
  • Champion and maintain strong internal relationships with key business leaders and collaborators.
  • Other duties as the need arises.
  • Support a goal-oriented, highly dedicated apparel business, through delivery and deployment of HR programs and processes and participate in coaching and guiding in functional and cross-functional initiatives (role clarity, performance management, compensation, succession planning, engagement surveys, and performance review cycle).
  • Lead a high performing HR team and focus on upskilling, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Oversee the Joe Fresh attraction and recruitment plan, with a focus on building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of Change Management initiatives.
  • Analyze HR trends and metrics to make data-driven decisions and recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Operate as a key enabler to the business as it drives Blue Culture and our b3 initiatives by counseling, guiding, facilitating, and allowing the business to own the sustainment.
  • Serve as a mentor and confidante to leaders around people and organizational issues and leadership development.


What You Will Need:


  • Digital literacy to produce and interpret reports, documents, and presentations.
  • Ability to work optimally in fast paced situations that require timely and sound decision making and may involve confidential or sensitive matters.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies.
  • Financial competence is an important asset, as well as general HR and Labour Relations functional knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and management skills and high professional standards for customer service and work quality.
  • CHRP designation or post-graduate degree an asset.
  • Minimum 7+ plus years of progressive leadership experience in HR with proven expertise in the area of client relation management including executive level.
  • Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions. Able to work with diverse personalities and styles.
  • Knowledge of HR related principles and best working practices and procedures, employment standards legislation and other regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Willingness and proficiency to work independently, with a high degree of personal accountability and drive.
  • Display readiness to make decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, and make timely decisions.
  • Provides solutions by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation are required.
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively verbally or through written documents.
