The Opportunity


BrandActive has enjoyed sustained growth over the past 25 years. Today, we continue to grow, and expand our service offerings. We are a niche firm, with a unique and differentiated selling proposition that continues to present untapped potential in the market. As a result, we are seeking to fill the role of Senior Director, Client Solutions.


The Senior Director, Client Solution is a senior leadership role within BrandActive, with the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the delivery of our next generation strategic vision. The leader in this role will be focused on creating new markets where they don’t exist, building mutually beneficial relationships with new agency partners and filling BrandActive’s pipeline with great clients. They will facilitate and champion learning and best practices alongside the VP, Client Solutions to grow the rest of the Client Solutions team.


The Senior Director, Client Solutions will be responsible for achieving net new revenue growth across BrandActive’s service offerings within assigned verticals globally (generally with companies headquartered in North America). This will involve cold outreach and prospecting while developing trusted advisory relationships with prospects, identifying and prospecting new business opportunities, leading consultative pitches to understand client needs and map them to our solutions, and further uncovering unmet needs in the marketplace that lead to an expansion of our service offerings. The person in this role is also expected to bring a strong network of potential opportunities to the benefit of all parties. The Senior Director will also support our Client Delivery leads in managing value-driven relationships with our Tier 1 clients to ultimately maximize lifetime value.


We are looking for an experienced, influential, and tenacious self-starter who can proactively grow our business by making a market in verticals where BrandActive has excellent client case studies to leverage, but a low overall presence. The right candidate will be excited by the whitespace opportunity afforded by our expansion, have the support of a capable marketing team, the opportunity to be a thought leader in the space, and the financial rewards that accompany success. We expect the Senior Director to actively leverage their existing CMO/marketing executive network, build net new relationships, and work with marketing and the Client Solutions team to develop thought leadership and targeted outreach.


There is a strong preference for this role to be based in Denver, New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Chicago. Although our travel reality is very low when compared to other consulting companies, travel between the US and Canada and potentially other countries will be quarterly, at minimum, based on internal or client requirements.


Responsibilities


Under the direction of the Vice President, Client Solutions, the Senior Director will:


  • Continuously improve the quality of our client mix through strategic, intentional outreach, accessing your network, attending conferences, incoming warm marketing leads and through relationships with agencies that you establish, creating sustainable and long-term clients, new solution identification, and net-new revenue and margin growth;
  • Coach and collaborate with other members of the Business Development team to support each other’s success and growth (e.g., mentoring, training, lessons learned analysis and collaborating with the delivery team);
  • Cultivate an environment that actively supports the growth, development, and career progression for team members;
  • Live and contribute to the BrandActive values of Trust, Agility, and Growth.
  • Contribute to setting business development targets and own the corresponding action plans to achieve these outcomes;
  • Support Client Delivery and Strategic Solutions team with account strategy development to extend consulting services and expand client relationships, maximizing total client value;
  • Lead by example and supports teams to be trusted advisors and solutions-oriented;
  • Partner with leadership within the Rebrand Implementation, Brand and Marketing Operations and Change Management practice areas, to develop and refine client presentations and ensure seamless transitions while onboarding new clients;
  • Promote a sense of belonging and fosters an inclusive environment by demonstrating a commitment to EDI (Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) while the team demonstrates inclusive values and behaviors;
  • Meet or exceed firm targets for new client development, both at an individual as well as team level;
  • Ability to independently manage opportunities and work as a team to strategically ideate the sales approach and process through the MQL/SQL/SOW process, including solution development, presentation strategy and development, SOW writing, and contracting;
  • Encourages others to cultivate the BrandActive culture by contributing to the improvement of organizational communications, learning and development and internal processes;
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of BrandActive’s service offerings;
  • Co-create unique and tailored solutions with potential clients, fearlessly exploring new spaces and opportunities to drive growth for potential clients, BrandActive or our partners;
  • Create and lead discovery meetings and credentials presentations;
  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding for individual differences;


Qualifications and Experience

  • Ideal candidate has an existing strong network of Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs), heads of brand, and other marketing executives;
  • Undergraduate degree required; MBA is beneficial.
  • Collaborative, problem-solving orientation;
  • Positive, tenacious, energetic and with an excellent work ethic;
  • High level of empathy, emotional intelligence; ability to forge connections and cultivate positive growth in others;
  • Demonstrated track record developing other business development professionals;
  • Substantial appetite to learn and grow personally and professionally;
  • Resilient and resourceful: distinctive ability to find ways around, over, or through potential barriers;
  • An excellent communicator with strong presentation skills (e.g., in-person or in virtual environments);
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in consultative business development, ideally in one or more of the following fields: professional services (consulting), marketing, advertising, branding and/or mergers and acquisitions (M&A);
  • Experience successfully winning opportunities by leading clients through the business development lifecycle – e.g., identifying and qualifying the opportunity, solution development, and on to close;
  • Self-starter with proven track record of success in a quota-carrying role and a strong book of business in at least one of BrandActive’s target verticals (e.g., healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, industrials, energy (including oil, gas, utilities, etc.), technology, mining and agriculture, and transportation and logistics;
  • A high-energy, passionate nature that drives you to produce a high volume of work and achieve success;
  • Intelligent problem-solver who is a quick study, agile, can read a room and shift the conversation into an area that leads to client acquisition;
