Job Description
William Thomas Digital is building Canada's leading data-driven personalization consultancy. We help forward-thinking organizations including some of North America's leading brands communicate relevant and personalized messaging and deliver extraordinary customer experiences regardless of channel or lifecycle stage.


We are currently seeking a Group Director, Client Engagement to lead a portfolio of business consisting of multiple clients in a specific industry vertical. The Group Director will lead a multi-disciplinary team focused on the planning and execution of data-driven marketing and digital messaging campaigns. The Group Director will liaise between clients and cross-functional internal teams, lead the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs; and improve on the client-agency experience. The ideal candidate is able to identify customer needs, translate those needs into solutions and inspire internal teams, to deliver best-in-class work.


General Summary


  • Provide value-added communications, thought-leadership, strategic counsel, industry knowledge to our client partners and internal team members
  • Lead your direct team by acting as a mentor who can generate excitement for our clients, work and agency
  • Be able to articulate with confidence and credibility your knowledge of your client's business, their industry and the work we do at WTD to help them achieve their business goals
  • Own and manage explicit revenue targets, pipeline of projects and overall financial success of the group including group and client/project-level margins
  • Responsible for the ownership of a group of core clients
  • Coach, develop, manage and train your account team staff by creating and delivering, successful professional development plans: improving your team's marketing, technology, strategy, client management and business development skills
  • Act as a trusted advisor with senior client stakeholders (VP, C-suite, Executives) and internal partners
  • Forecast short, medium and long-term revenue goals for your group and the implications related to project dates, resource needs, etc.
  • Manage and oversee all client deliverables across the group and be the last line of defense with regards to meeting and exceeding all client expectations
  • Manage and oversee the development of proposals and SOWs that solve complex business problems for our clients


Planning And Strategy


  • Lead, support and contribute (when necessary) any new business pitches
  • Create the long-term vision for data-driven personalization within the overall context of your client's marketing communications plan
  • Own the annual account planning process and its ongoing activities, success metrics, etc. across your group of clients
  • Manage with accuracy and in real-time your pipeline of work leveraging the CRM tools at your disposal
  • Be seen as a significant contributor to client's ongoing planning process and as a strategic partner that can help them solve their most complex business problems
  • Regularly lead and develop proactive strategic recommendations/presentations to achieve clients' marketing and business goals, engaging internal resources as appropriate
  • Regularly lead and develop proactive POVs on the client's industry including trends, competitive understanding and the impact that it has on the client's business
  • Manage and grow your book of business with existing clients and achieve your top-line revenue, overall profitability and other financial metrics/targets assigned to your group


Requirements


  • Experience representing your agency as an expert and speaking at industry events
  • A strong understanding of an enterprise digital ecosystem and experience in digital transformation
  • Years of management level experience in an agency, technology or consulting environment with vast experience in marketing, technology, software sales or communications
  • Strong understanding of leading enterprise marketing technology and data platforms
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • At least 10
  • Proven success leading, coaching and developing teams
