Global Banking and Markets
We provide a comprehensive range of financial services and products to corporates, governments and institutions. Our product specialists deliver transaction banking, financing, advisory, capital markets and risk management services.
About The Role
This role within the Global Banking Coverage team will support an institutional client base of clients across Bank-owned asset management arm, independent asset managers, hedge funds, financial sponsors and public pension plans. The successful candidate will work closely with a variety of Global Banking & Markets teams to deliver a comprehensive range of wholesale banking products and services, including Advisory, Credit & Lending, Leveraged Finance, Debt and Equity Capital Markets, Corporate Risk & Treasury Solutions, Trade Finance, and Cash Management.
Responsibilities

• Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved.
• Provide high quality sector, competitor and client analyses in support of marketing, strategy, and credit processes.
• Prepare the documents for internal approvals required for maintaining ongoing client relationships and specific transactions
• Managing credit exposure to the clients in this portfolio in Canada
• Providing support on client management and business development activities, including credit analysis, client presentations, client servicing, administration & operational support, coordination with internal & external parties.
• Work within a team environment and ensuring a high level of communication between line manager and other team members.
• Develop and maintain client plans and pipeline activity. Monitor income generation and effectively manage financial reporting and analysis for the client portfolio.
• Promote an environment that supports diversity, inclusion and collaboration
• Assist in deal execution, including the completion of documentation and proper internal booking of transactions while ensuring compliance with internal processes and controls.

Requirements

• Uphold the highest level of integrity and act as a role model for all HSBC values and business principles
• Outstanding record of academic achievement, with a demonstrable passion for corporate finance
• Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
• Eager to learn and work in a fast-pace, highly successful and engaging environment
• High degree of proficiency with MS office suite, particularly Excel. Knowledge of financial modelling and VBA programming are preferred.
• Strong attention to detail
• Business related degree such as a B.Com or equivalent.
